Both sides still play for State Championships and still play in the Superdome. While i'm in favor of the split for football, i'm against it for baseball and softball. Softball especially doesn't have enough schools with programs to split. Basketball on the other hand probably has more programs than any other sport so i guess it could work for that sport too. It should have never went past basketball though.

Because the split sucks. It's discrimination brought on because a couple folks rather get things handed to them instead of work for it just like all the people protesting. Because it's boring now and the state finals suck

Unless its deaf. Crying? Let's see, I want all teams in the same bracket. You and your kind whined, kicked and screamed for years till you got what you wanted just like little titty babies do. I think crying better fits you. And yellow stripes down your back couldn't be more fitting.

Yeah I'm not sure how asking for everyone to be together is crying. He's asking for more competition not trying to get rid of it.

Softball especially doesn't have enough schools with programs to split. Basketball on the other hand probably has more programs than any other sport so i guess it could work for that sport too. It should have never went past basketball though. If you guys could ever think past championships it would make more sense why this is a bad plan. In the past, a good, proud program made the playoffs every year. Playoffs was a way to benchmark your team and program. Really good years you could win a game or 2, and a deep run meant a great team. No, no one was beating JC, but is a championship really the only reason to play?? Now, the system really hoses non-factory select schools. They must contend with the juggernauts every year without any more ability to do so ( and in many cases even less) than a Many, Kinder, Haynesville, Neville, WM, etc. Those kids can have a team that is a 10 year best team at their school, but they will still most likely not win a playoff game and will never win 2. All years are the same. No real way to compare. Meantime, a 6-4 public team is going 3 games deep and building community support and a program. Sports isn't all about championships, but it is about setting goals and it is about comparisons. If we want a level playing field, then dammit lets make an actual one and craft a success metric/multiplier or whatever. But don't try to tell me with a straight face that Archbishop Hannan, Christian Life Academy, St Michael's, need to be separated from public schools and that they are better equipped to handle ND, Curtis, etc.

There is literally no reason for 1A to be split. 1A was very competitive and pretty even between public and private schools. Would love to see Haynesville take a shot at Southern Lab this year. No reason for them not to.
Also, selects have horrible times for Superdome now and are basically relegated to second class status. Sorry but forcing Division IV to play a game at 10 am on a weekday is total crap.
Vast majority of private schools pose zero threat to public schools. Can't tell me that most class A public schools can't compete with us (Ascension Christian) and the rest of the 1A private schools on a yearly basis.

The LHSAA has become the USSSA of high school sports, no true champions because everyone is a champion.
USSSA World Series Championships. North Regional South Regional Atlantic Regional Moutain Region Global South Global East Global West Global North Global Atlantic Global Gulf States and then there is the Elite series and All American Series. All for every age group with no one clear champion.
