I like these 1A districts better.
I don't understand the 4A NOLA districts though. Why combine districts 9 and 10 for football only when there are already 5 football-playing schools in each district. That's a 10 team district for football. only 1 non-district game for the next 2 years? That's messed up.

Smart I had not considered it from that perspective. Personally, I would want a little more say over which teams I could play each year, but that's just me.

Finally Basile and Elton will be back in a district together, the Battle of the Bayou is back on!! What I like is the old district from the 80's is back, St. Ed, Basile, Elton, Oberlin and Merryville. That was some of the best rivalries games I played in during the early 80's. Some good memories from those games.

Ben Franklin won't play for district so that's 9... They still play everyone so it's 10 no they don't... they might play Riverdale since that's about their level, but you'll never see them on the field with Karr, Easton, or 35... it wouldn't make sense for anybody they play in 9-4A in all other sports but didn't play football against any other 9-4A teams. i'd make two changes from that for NOLA... get Thomas Jefferson out of the Cohen-Sci-KIPP district and put them with their rival Haynes, and in class C, take First Baptist in Slidell out of the Baton Rouge district and put them in the NOLA class C district

Well we were denied the move to the New Orleans district again.
Not sure if we are going to play for district or not. Either way should be a better schedule this year for the Lions.

Either way should be a better schedule this year for the Lions. hope yall do... would hate to tell kids they're not going to the playoffs or the Dome before the season even starts I'm hopeful. I think we are to the point now where we could realistically win a playoff game with the right matchup. Only game that really scares me is Southern Lab. The size difference between them and us is quite jarring. Not worried about them from a sportsmanship standpoint as they run a good clean program, just worried about potential injuries. Needless to say 5'7 150 lb lineman going up against 6'4 250 linemen is never a good thing. I personally just have no issues playing against Lab or Kentwood and as a former coach I would love the challenge. A little nervous as the last time we face someone that big was Madison Prep 2 years ago. Ended up with multiple concussions and a ton of injuries in that game. Basically destroyed the rest of the season for us as we struggled to get healthy. Other than that I think we should be much improved and should be able to be competitive with everyone aside from Lab and Kentwood. I trust the coaches and administration to make the right choice, whatever it may be. Either way I'll be wearing blue and orange next year and supporting the Lions in various ways.
