According to the PR on this site...Albany went 9-1 and wouldn't have made the playoffs? St James 8-2 and left out?
If this is accurate I HIGHLY doubt this change is made.

You go to 16 brackets, then you start working on some type of balance for each class and division that gives you the best balance.

8-2 would have had us at #16... and 8-2 for us would have meant a win over Ehret, Landry-Walker, or our rival Holy Cross. we didn't win any of those games, so i didn't think we were very deserving. none of our 7 wins came against playoff teams.
look at 3A where Albany finished 9-1 and #21... their loss was to Amite, and they would have needed that win to be #16 at 10-0
btw- district champions per bracket
5A 6 4A 12 3A 10 2A 7 1A 5 I 5 II 3 III 4 IV 4

Principals aren't going to vote for a plan where a 9-1 team isn't even close to making the playoffs.

should have scheduled tougher... and maybe won that last game to win district and get the automatic berth... when you're 7-3, 9-1, etc. and that low, it says you're a paper 7-3 or 9-1, etc.
we've gone too far in one direction so why not go too far in the other?

It has to be the same number of teams for each classification or it's not fair. So they should go with 16 teams in the playoffs.
The LHSAA will also need to fix the situation with some schools being Select and being classified as non-Select as well. That will bring the number of teams up in some of those divisions to help get to the 16 team cutoff.
