My two cents is this: I haven't seen Acadiana play but they are in the semis, you don't get there by luck. I have seen Hahnville aka: The Pooka Show up close and personal. He is as good as advertised and then some. Covington had zero athletes that could match up with him. That kid needs only a very small crease and he will exploit you. He is the fastest kid I've seen in a long time. They have a very mediocre defense that allowed Brumfield north of 250 yards. They have NO passing game which makes them very one dimensional. It is hard to argue their play or game strategy, as they too are in the semis. Their strategy is well known and simple: give Pooka the ball. They truly are a one man show if there ever was one. He is their team. Can Acadiana slow him down? I don't know because they sure aren't going to stop him. I never dreamed he would've had 300 yards on Covington. If Acadiana can find a way to limit him, they can win. You have to be disciplined in your assignments and have sound gap discipline. There is no arm tackling, he moves too quick for that. You have to break down on him because if you are moving even a little in one direction, he will change direction on a dime and be gone. They say he is not very talented in the classroom, but I know this: he has great football sense. We had him penned up and surrounded late in the game for about a 20 yard loss due to his propensity to change direction and try to make something out of nothing (he will try to force plays where there are none instead of taking a small loss or a small gain and waiting for the next play). Anyway, we had him contained for a huge loss, he had enough presence of mind to throw a pass out of bounds to avoid the loss. 2nd and 10 instead of 2nd and 30. I did see a little frustration on their first drive as Covington held him to about a -9 yards on the drive. He tended to get chippy and frustrated with his O-line. I think if Acadiana can sustain holding him to small yards and a few negative plays, they can get him out of his game. Just my opinion and observations. Very good observations. I’ve watched some Hahnville games on YouTube and he is, IMHO, the best RB in the state. Can change direction on a dime, elite speed and breaks more tackles than someone his size should. His vision reminds me of Justin Vincent, who ran a zone offense at Barbe and was excellent at finding holes to run through. The only difference is he is faster than Vincent. Gap assignment will be key. He’s going to get his yards and then some. One thing I’ve noticed is that they are good at winning the 4th quarter. While Pooka is elite, the QB isn’t far behind. He takes advantage of teams keying Pooka but he’s not a slouch either. Great speed. Acadiana will have to play gaps soundly and contain contain contain. He seems to do most of his damage outside. He gains chunks when running between tackles but it’s when he gets outside the tackle box that he hits the homerun. It’ll be a real challange slowing him down. Hahnville runs a 3-4 defense that will likely change to a 5-2 if they’re smart. Live Oak sold out against the run and still gave up almost 400 yds rushing. The thing about Acadiana is if they can sustain drives and keep Pooka on the sidelines then that would go a long way. Live Oak had a season low 34 plays from scrimmage on offense, compared to Acadiana 58. Acadiana needs to play keep away. And they can be really good at that. All in all I’m confident we can win, but I also know that Hahnville is capable of taking it to the house on any play. Should be a great atmosphere and game. Already bought my tickets and I know Hahnville travels well. Spot on about the QB, i watched the Covington game and said to myself “oh this kid has got some twitch”

Already bought my tickets and I know Hahnville travels well. You can absolutely run on their defense. Brumfield had over 250 yards. Not sure about their pass defense because we didn't throw until the very end. We too were running the ball to shorten the game and try to keep their offense on the sideline. Our QB had imo his worst game of the year at the absolute most inopportune time, he was not himself at all. I think it may have been a little different if he was throwing and running like he has done so well the rest of the year. They cannot throw and probably won't even try. It's Pooka or nothing for them. You're right though, he's a little guy and will avoid the interior of the defense at all costs. If he runs through the middle, he immediately shifts to the outside. You have to use your ends, outside backers and even your cornerbacks to keep him off the outside. He is adept however at using the entire field when your defense is spread out, he will go from one sideline to the other.

They have more than just Pooka. The QB can run his tail off and is very quick and shifty as well. I'd be surprised if the Rams hold Pooka to under 200 yards.

But as Pooka goes, so goes the team. If Pooka is removed from the equation, they cannot win. Pooka can have 400nyds Pooka can have 400 yds, it's the amount of td's that matters!!!!! Not sure you thinking this through. Remember Rams can score and control the ball. Acadiana can play defense, ok. This will be the best team HHS faces up to this point. Rams faced a Landry Walker team loaded with talent and yes held on 24-22. WHY they were able to play defense when needed. Rams beat Live Oak and the River Parish Refs 17-14. Sorry but they won't be there to flag happy the Rams. I truly believe they had an agenda to beat Acadiana all night. Hate to say it but, coincidence no I don't think so. HHS will not have the River Parish Refs like Live Oak did. HHS will not stop the Veer!! So it might be who has the ball last or it may come down to the fact Acadiana will control the scoreboard and the clock. Pull for your team and hope for your team. Just realize HHS hopes to win, wishes to win and wants to win . That there is no doubt. Only problem ,Acadiana EXPECTS to win. Come on over to BDS where the grass turns GOLD for the semi's. Good luck to everyone still in the playoffs !

Not so fast - maybe you need to conduct a little research before making that statement. Hahnville uses the New Orleans Association to officiate their games, not the River Parish group....
