That would settle whose is the best team in cenla. Thete would be at least 7-8 thousand people in the stands. Would be a epic game.

Many may be better than last year and I think that Jena will not be as good. They were a 10-0 team that lost in the first round last year. They will be good again but I don’t expect them to be any better. Many will be loaded again and has much more success in big games. They will make a deep run again.

Jena would not win...they might not even win their district Jena is gonna take a step back after losing Jaray Jenkins (who missed most of the season anyways), 1/2 of their good running backs, Lamar Farris, and Troy Dangerfield but they still have 1/2 of their good running backs, Aaron Boyette (who is coming off a torn ACL) and Casey Spicer anchoring the offensive line, All-State defensive lineman Devin Delasalle, and All-State defensive back Shaun Todd. Looking at it right now I think Jena should be hands down the favorite in that district with Avoyelles losing key players, Caldwell losing baby Emmitt Smith at RB and their starting QB, and Peabody and Bolton looking like cellar dwellers. Marksville could maybe challenge Jena but I think Jena is better than Marksville. As for Many vs. Jena, it would be a very good game but Many would win by two touchdowns

Troy Dangerfield is only a jr. I see another undefeated regular season this year. They have the four best players in the district in Trelon Jones, Dangerfield, Todd and Boyette. Also have Casey Spicer, Devin Delasalle, Zyrick Noel and a slew of sophmores that played a lot last year. We lost Jenkins in the first game last year and Boyette in the seventh game last year and still went undefeated. Also lost D.J. Major for the year in seventh game. Coach Roark said he has never been hit as hard by injury bug as last year. Boyette should be 100 percent by the time season starts. Trelon could very well hit 2000 yards this year. This should be the best team Jena has ever had. We shall see.

I don’t think that they go undefeated again. Don’t underestimate the luxury of having a four year starter at QB. Todd may be an awesome athlete and do great things but experience at that position matters. Jena may win them all but I would not be surprised if they finished with 6 wins. Tioga, ASH, Marksville are no gimmes. Throw in Avoyelles and Caldwell in other games that could be difficult.

These are two very good PROGRAMSthat have reached a point of reloading instead of rebuilding.
Many has a ridiculous amount of D1 talent for a 2A school ( here comes Indy with his Booker bashing....) and is primed to be one of the best teams in the state regardless of class. They will give 2A a run for its money this year and would be competitive with just about anybody, win or lose.
Jena has huge shoes to fill in Farris, but they learned to function without Jenkins last year pretty quickly. Farris will be hard to replace, and yes, a 4 year starter at QB is huge, but don’t sleep on the Giants. They may drop a couple of games trying to find themselves, but I think this is the year they get to the Qtrs.
And yes, a Jena/Many game would be a good one!!

Many has a ridiculously large zone to draw from. 1100 students in Sabine parish (plus the fringe areas) any of which can go to Many. Is this really fair? Plus, not one private school siphoning off any talent. I know you are up Fridaynights butt, but a legitimate coach there with the expanded zone and talent would win every year.

I have his number if you need it I’ll talk to Louie tomorrow. But the fact that he has a history of dodging a tough district, dodging a tough schedule, and coaches at the king of schools I find it highly unlikely that J C will man up.

You can brow beat, insult and put down all you want... but here’s your chance to put your money where your mouth is! You seem to be the self anointed voice of the Pio nation. Go tell Louis first thing tomorrow that you demand a scrimmage or jamboree with Many. Own it!!

Kamala, while I respect your opinions and value your insight, I think you may be a bit off base in this particular argument. Since many public school principles, Many's in particular, pushed hard to have the private schools removed from the football playoff system and continued to push for other sports to be separated as well, it would be incumbent on them to be the ones to "put their money where their mouths are". The Pios were never the ones to say they didn't want to play Many. It was the other way around. Quite loudly.

Fireman, Jena does not play Tioga this year. We played them in 2015 and 2016.We tried to play them last year but their coach said they had lost too many seniors and would not schedule us. ASH agreed to play us and will play us again this year. As for as Boyette he broke his Tibula last year . He did not have a torn ACL. As for as Shaun Todd he has played QB before. Believe me , he is just as good as LT Major at Franklin Parish except faster and mote slippery. Jena will be fine at QB

If this game could draw 8000 people, I would love to see it.
I attend games in and around the Baton Rouge area. I don't think they draw 8000 even at 5A games. I went to Live Oak at West Feliciana last year and I would estimate maybe 2500-3000 were there. One state champion and one quarterfinalist. I saw Catholic at Zachary also. I would say the stadium was 90% full, but I don't know how many it can hold. Maybe 6000. Does anyone know?
I know Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge can hold around 20,000. Have not seen it near half full in many years. Olympia Stadium in Baton Rouge seats 7000 and Catholic did not sell it out too often. I go to Central High and Live Oak games alot, and they have good crowds, but not great.
My question is where could I attend a packed house high school football game in Louisiana? I have never been to West Monroe.

Every Jena game is a sellout and when they travel they always pack the visitors side. From what i hear Many fans are the same way. Thats why i did not understand the Tioga coach cancelling Jena. Left a lot of money on the table.

If so, no way is he faster than LT😄😄 Could be, but we'll never know since we don't play. Hopefully coach McCartney can use his Jena connections and get Jena on our schedule next season. Used to be some good games between Jena and Winnsboro in the old days. Only played once since we became FP.
