Fireman, Jena does not play Tioga this year. We played them in 2015 and 2016.We tried to play them last year but their coach said they had lost too many seniors and would not schedule us. ASH agreed to play us and will play us again this year. As for as Boyette he broke his Tibula last year . He did not have a torn ACL. As for as Shaun Todd he has played QB before. Believe me , he is just as good as LT Major at Franklin Parish except faster and mote slippery. Jena will be fine at QB Didn't Shaun Todd play baseball at Jena? I remember a Todd out there. If so, no way is he faster than LT😄😄 Could be, but we'll never know since we don't play. Hopefully coach McCartney can use his Jena connections and get Jena on our schedule next season. Used to be some good games between Jena and Winnsboro in the old days. Only played once since we became FP. Haven’t fp and Jena been scrimmaging in the fall? Not any more? Also, Neither of the kids y’all are comparing are very fast. Both great football players in their own rite. But neither are blazers. If I had to guess neither would break a 4.8 40 if legitimately timed. Jena can’t compete with many.

Lt is the better football player? Shaun Todd was first team all state in football.

Lot of difference between a game and a scrimmage. I didn't see last years scrimmage but 2 years ago, they handled us pretty good. LT could do a 4.8 backwards.

Jena handled Franklin Parish easily last year. Whit is a great coach in my opinion, he will have FP a contender sooner than later. The kids at Jena loved him.

Hey trt, you think we could get ya'll on the schedule in 2019-20. Caldwell vs. FP would sell some tickets in our neck of the woods. yea it definitely would...alot of the kids and family members know each other..would be an interesting game too

Jena is gonna take a step back after losing Jaray Jenkins (who missed most of the season anyways), 1/2 of their good running backs, Lamar Farris, and Troy Dangerfield but they still have 1/2 of their good running backs, Aaron Boyette (who is coming off a torn ACL) and Casey Spicer anchoring the offensive line, All-State defensive lineman Devin Delasalle, and All-State defensive back Shaun Todd. Looking at it right now I think Jena should be hands down the favorite in that district with Avoyelles losing key players, Caldwell losing baby Emmitt Smith at RB and their starting QB, and Peabody and Bolton looking like cellar dwellers. Marksville could maybe challenge Jena but I think Jena is better than Marksville. As for Many vs. Jena, it would be a very good game but Many would win by two touchdowns Dangerfield is coming back..i agree Jena does return a good nucleus. Can Todd get the job done at QB..ans will Jones be able to tote the majority of the load after losing Savage...from reading previous post Marksville should be pretty good I don't know enough about any team to give a overall opinion...Caldwell lost 2 great players in London and Abrams but I think people will be somewhat surprised by their replacements..not saying they will put up some of the numbers but they will get the job done...They return a defense that seen 8 sopres and a freshman on the field for them a good part of the season..if they find a few guys to step up on the Oline I don't see why they would not be in the thick of things..i think it will be a 3 horse race for district I thought Dangerfield was a senior. That gives Jena three All-State caliber players on defense. They will be a force

Would be interrsting to see Collier and Jones go head to head. I believe Jena will dress out around 75 kids this year. We having a new field house built since we have so many kids on roster now.

Jena is 3A? 75 is a large number for a 3A team. Jena should be able to win a few playoff games this year.

Jena is 28-2 over the last three years in regular season and 2-3 in the playoffs. They have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball and honestly cenla does not have many programs that are up right now. Jena lost a good deal of talent last year but with their schedule should easily go 8-2 at the worst this year with another 10-0 season possible. As far as Jena and Many until Jena can make repeated deep runs in the playoffs to me Many is the premier team in cenla. But yes a game between the two of them would easily rival the crowd at Caldwell Jena last year. People were parking a mile away from campus for that game.

Many never did much until Coach Curtis took over as head coach. Played in the Dome in 1988 and made some noise when Darnell Williams was there.
It was a basketball area until Jess got the job. Football was an afterthought.
I am biased. Coach Curtis and I were teammates and graduated the same year from there.

I heard that coach Curtis tried to put Jena on the schedule last year but Jena never would commit. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
