Alright, early predictions on who is moving up & moving down? This is assuming everything stays the same of course, and no new alignment-related proposals pass. Some NELA moves I've heard rumored:
Up: Beekman Charter (2A to 3A) Rayville (2A to 3A) Sterlington (3A to 4A- By choice) West Ouachita (4A to 5A)
Down: Bastrop (4A to 3A) Madison Parish (3A to 2A)
There's several others that are always kind of on the bubble, but I haven't heard anything one way or the other.
What about you and your area?

Surefire:
Mamou-3A to 2A(missed the last cut off due to 8th graders being counted) Port Barre-3A to 2A(new parish lines will take Opelousas kids out of their zone)
Possible:
Ville Platte-2A to 3A( I’ve heard their numbers are going up enough)
Need to, but won’t:
Pine Prairie- 3A to 2A(number of male athletes to total population doesn’t add up and struggles to fill a roster of 35+, there needs to be something to allow schools like this to play down a class...but someone will likely abuse it so nvm😒)

I heard from parents that have kids at the LCA that they almost moved up last time, but decided against it at the last minute. The numbers this time will make them move up.
Also heard that Northside enrollment has been on the decline. They may stay 4A for the next reclass but will be in 3A before long.
North Vermilion should be a 4A school.
Northwest, Eunice, and Crowley will be close calls as they have been the last few reclass years.

I made a spreadsheet tracking enrollment figures dating back to 2008 for most football schools... Can't post it right now but will closer to reclassification. It would be useful to see which way teams are trending and how fast.
Two of the biggest gainers since 2008: Chalmette and Holy Cross

Haven’t heard any but in the south la(New Orleans Area) wouldn’t be shocked to see any of these:
Glen Oaks-3a to 2a(constantly dipping enrollment) basically the Baton Rouge version of Northside
Madison Prep-3a to 4a(if not this cycle then the next for sure)
McDonough 35-with the new charter in place, I don’t think they are taking in freshman this year, they’ll be going to 3a
I wouldn’t be shocked if others such as baker and broadmoor dropped either. Once istrouma fully opens as well as Christo Rey they’ll be more changes

Port Allen is one of the largest 2A schools. The enrollment there is always between 400 and 450 the last decade. They could move up to 3A. Madison Prep being a 4A? Do they have over 800 students now?

There actually aren't any specific numbers that determine where teams are classified. It also depends on how many football playing schools there are for that particular re-class.

Here is how I feel about some of these schools, just my opinion going off enrollment numbers
Done Deals (These are schools that were right on the line last time around and should move in classification. Mamou will drop back to 2A and J-H should go back up. WO was the largest school in 4A and only missed being a 5A school by around 3 kids so I think they are the most likely to go out of everyone. LCA is already at 2A according to most I have heard from so they should be moving up. With all the "Death of an Athletic Program" talk since Southside opened I think Comeaux is gonna drop down to 4A.)
West Ouachita: 4A to 5A
Comeaux: 5A to 4A
Mamou: 3A to 2A
Madison Parish: 3A to 2A
Jonesboro-Hodge: 1A to 2A
Lafayette Christian: 1A to 2A
Likely These are the schools that have a good chance of moving in classification but I wouldn't say it is a definite yet. Port Barre and Amite seem to be the most likely of this group to move in classification.
Riverdale: 4A to 5A
Northside: 4A to 3A
Loranger: 3A to 4A
Avoyelles: 3A to 2A
Port Barre: 3A to 2A
Amite: 2A to 3A
Ville Platte: 2A to 3A
Houma Christian: 1A to 2A
Ouachita Christian: 1A to 2A
Oak Grove: 1A to 2A
Possible These are the schools that could realistically change classification but I'm not sure that they will yet. Woodlawn-BR is the most realistic to move back down to 4A. Eunice and Crowley historically flip flop between 4A and 3A so we'll just have to see with them. Vidalia and Port Allen going back up is very possible and it wouldn't be the first time Menard was in 3A.
Woodlawn-BR: 5A to 4A
Broadmoor: 5A to 4A
St. Michael the Archangel: 4A to 3A
Eleanor McMain: 4A to 3A
North Vermilion: 3A to 4A
Crowley: 3A to 4A
Eunice: 3A to 4A
Cohen: 2A to 3A
Vidalia: 2A to 3A
Holy Savior Menard: 2A to 3A
Delhi Charter: 2A to 1A
Vermilion Catholic: 1A to 2A
Westminster Christian: 1A to 2A
Port Allen: 2A to 3A
Unlikely
These are the schools that have been brought up that I don't think are very likely to change classification. I feel that Sterlington has nothing to gain by playing up into a district with Neville for football and possibly West Ouachita for baseball. They are in a good spot where they are at. Benton could have 5A in its future, but the future isn't now. Jennings has flip flopped to 4A in the past but looking at the last enrollment numbers they aren't close enough barring a dramatic increase in students. Calvary has been inching closer to 1A but I think they may play up to 2A even if they dropped to 1A numbers. Buckeye continues to grow and I think they are here to stay in 4A.
Benton: 4A to 5A
Buckeye: 4A to 3A
Jennings: 3A to 4A
Pine Prairie: 3A to 2A
Beekman Charter: 2A to 3A
Calvary Baptist: 2A to 1A
Bastrop: 4A to 3A
Sterlington: 3A to 4A (By Choice)
Rayville: 2A to 3A
Loyola Prep: 3A to 2A
Northwest: 3A to 4A
Madison Prep: 3A to 4A
McDonogh #35: 4A to 3A
Glen Oaks: 3A to 2A
Bogalusa: 3A to 2A
Tara: 4A to 3A

This is hilarious. The new season is less than 3 months away and overall, everyone seems to be more interested in the next Re-Class. I find myself more interested as well but its because I can't be sure what other teams have coming back. Can't wait for the new Louisiana Football Magazines to come out.

School size is absolutely a factor in balanced competition do you disagree?
