That Logansport/JH game looks enticing.
Ruston/Neville game will be a defensive slugfest.
Neville really impressed me last night defensively. Totally different team tgab last year speed wise and physicality.
If they can get that passing game going they will be lights out.
The potential is there for Neville to be great. West Monroe's offense looks like a work in progress, but if they can shore up that line and get that passing game going LOOK OUT. Chandler Moncrief is a monster. So is Brooks Miller.

The Bishop Dunne/Evangel game will be a good one and so is the Calvary/Byrd game.
This week will be some good games including the Mansfield/Huntington game as well as the Cedar Creek/Loyola game

If the offensive line comes around I think the passing will come around. Neville’s Dline is good. WM won’t face a Dline line that until week 5 and 3rd maybe 4th round. Lot of time for oline to gel. I also look for Jones to be back at safety this week.

May just show how bad Ouachita is though.
Ouachita looked to have ZERO running game from what i saw. Offensive line is big, real big, but looked soft and unathletic.
Neville looked really solid up front at times, but WM defensive front 7 is NASTY. They laying lumber. Yikes.

Neville looked really solid up front at times, but WM defensive front 7 is NASTY. They laying lumber. Yikes. Everything Neville ran was to the inside. Except the one horse collar play that was not called. That would've been 6. Neville left alot of points out there. Over thrown passes for tds. Drop passes for tds. Overall they looked ok. Wm couldnt move the ball besides the one defensive miss call by neville. Wm had 7 yards total second half. Neville had 200 plus if we can count special teams. Neville has a playmaker wm didn't show theirs or dont have one. Week 5 Hunter will be on a faster bigger more meaningful level. Should be all state athlete by that time. Wm should be more experienced in the secondary. What a good story it is. This was just a appetizer and we're not full dinner will be served sept.28! And im not going back and forth dont ask me any questions. excited for da city

Can anyone tell me on how good the West Monroe Rebels will be and will they have the chance to be a force in Class 5A to make it to the Dome? What will be the status of 2-5A and how good can some of these teams will be?
I really like how the North Louisiana teams have their week 1 schedules aligned and what they are bringing to the table in 2018?

I believe West Monroe has the capability to win it all, but it will ride on their passing game and Offensive Line. I did notice that when Boyer went to the bench they scored quick. Just an observation. He is TOO big in my opinion. The backup was good.
Offensive Line off the bus looks like a machine, but they just arent gelling it seems as of yet. They look plenty athletic enough and even more formidable than last years line, but whatever it is they are lacking needs shored up quickly. I love #68. Cutler is a college tackle, period.
Their defensive line is the best in 5A and likely the state of Louisiana. Tremendous size, speed, strength and depth. Yes, even better than University Lab. Their linebackers and safeties tackle like they did back in 2000 and 1998, they hurt you. Men among boys.
Having said that i thought their pass rush was not the greatest and they still play too much freaking man coverage.
I like this team and i like this Neville team a lot. Both impressed tremendously. Let Kahmann loose damnit and allow him to throw the ball downfield as he did on the scoring drive. Hunt, let him eat.
I know Zachary and Destrehan are loaded too, so those three are the favorites.
I expected more out of Ruston and Ouachita but both had glaring weaknesses. Think Ruston has more potential. Ouachita's O-Line better get more physical because the running game was bad last night. Their defense has little depth up front and will be a factor; last year they had a good amount of depth lost to graduation.
Bastrop in 4A is a real player and could compete against Ruston, Neville, Ouachita, and WM from what I saw of them Friday. Their passing game and their offensive line is legit and the best in Northeast LA. Bastrop fans should be glowing. Next week at home against a very good Carver team will show yall what your season could be. I will be there to watch it. Will be worth the drive.

Wasn’t a horse collar. Just saw the film. All shirt sleeve. But your future “All Stater” did get run down from behind by a 250# defensive end. Lol

Lol Not bad for a 19 year old man chasing and grabbing the horse collar on my 16 year old all stater. You damn right men amongst boys i'll agree. Next time maybe coach won't let them off so easy by taking MY BOY out. Lol! Must've didnt want to rub it in his buddy's face on that side of the river. I'd care what film you watched you are a wm fan you cant see past the dixie flags and cow bells. I know what we saw thats your side. I guess wm wasnt holding all night either. Maybe you should use contacts instead of glasses when watching film.

Just when I thought you may actually be human and have a pulse you go back to your old defensive modality You know that player was not 15 he was 12. and that 19 year old was 22.come on man. get it right

Is Max Hunter going to play in the Bayou Jam next year? You know, because he didn’t when the MVP of the game last night The guy he backed up at West Monroe last year won it.

Dont put fuel on this fire i'll be quiet like everyone was the weeks leading up to the game. Them freshman going to be special too. They passed out a L to a team that didnt lose in along time, but lets not mention that guys.

You mean, they only give it to winners.
Yes, I saw him have 4 yards rushing and catch a nice pass on a busted coverage. It was a good catch though. Not bad for a 15 year old junior.

Do it next game we will take it all game might be 240 next. And look like a broken tackle to me you seen a miss tackle on the film. Im guessing. I bet at the beginning of the game that kickoff was because of busted coverage. I hope its busted up next time just like that. I would focus on my next game if i was you. We are and thats all the energy im giving this read the paper and check out which defense gave up more yards.

The truth is, Max is a good player. And he would have been a great player at West Monroe if he just had the patience to wait his turn. Unfortunately he's getting really bad advice from those around him and his "greater than I really am" attitude is buying it. The "pack up my toys and go home" mentality is not going to advance him in life. I hope I'm wrong and he does great things in the future.

This got off target real quick.
I thought Gleason looked like his Sopre self last night. Very pleased. Last year was tough to watch. A couple of plays he made were reminiscent of the LW game where he was the only player who seemed to show up defensively.
Max Hunter is a quality player, but not a RB. As a slot receiver he can be lethal. Good speed, but not elite. Good hands and runs good routes.
He is definitely Neville's top offensive player.
Neville and WM are going to make a big run this year. Will be fun. So will Bastrop.

Im not trashing him at all. I just see what i see. He is very good and electric when given an open field. That TD pass and catch was big time. Great hands and strength breaking tackles. His speed isnt top rated though. He lacks quick feet and making that cut against the grain. He needs to gain some weight to be a big time running back. Have you seen Emery play? Compare the two. Last night there were a couple runs he would have broken to the house i saw had he been in a Neville uniform. But, as a receiver Hunter will make his money. Very good route runner and great off the line. Cant understand why he wasnt used more in that capacity.
