Week 1 and Bastrop and Franklin Parish are on top at 1-0. Means nothing. A few years back Neville started 1-4 and was one John Diarse twisted ankle away from another trip to the dome. I fully expect Neville to be tough come the district games, but I think Bastrop and Franklin Parish have begun to live up to high expectations.

Nobody wants to talk about 2-4A? I figured django would be on here telling me about a team meeting in the house where all the Neville players live. Where you at 1983ram,I wanna hear about that exciting contest ya'll had with a very good Carver team.

But turnovers and a load of penalties kept it close. Just very sloppy overall. Defense was lights out. Offense put them in a bind all night and they held up. Didn’t care for the play calling but that’s nothing new. A win is a win though so I’ll take it...

I was following ya'lls game on scorestream. It looked like a great one. Yeah carver has a good team. Huge on the offensive line . They’re all 6-3 / 6-4 and 300. Athletes all over the field on both sides.

Rayville has a kid on the O-line that is incredibly huge. About 6'7" 380 lbs. Also some good athletes. But, they were out of shape and not nearly as strong as FP. Patriots have lived in the weight room since the end of last season.

The QB, Thomas, is good kid and a leader. By the end of the season they'll be tough.

Both FP and Strop city had good wins this weekend, while Neville got handled up on pretty good. Neville has to find its identity as a team and figure some stuff out. Their schedule is by far the toughest of the three teams and will expose any weaknesses they have. This will allow McCarty to get everything right before district play starts. I will say that I love the offenses at both FP and Bastrop, especially their QBs. Its gonna make for a very interesting year!

That’s gotta be cause for concern. When everybody was picking Neville to make a deep run after the jamboree I didn’t say a word but I just don’t see it in the cards for the tigers this year...

This year may very well follow the same path as the 2010 team. They will take their lumps early on, but have the potential to end up being a decent team. Offensively, they need to find some playmakers other than #10 and #35. They are going to have to find some receivers who can hold onto the ball and minimize mistakes. Neville had way to many turnovers in the ballgame. Defensively, Neville will be fine. It may mean that #10 and #35 play some DB when they face a good passing team like Bastrop, but they will be fine. My prediction: 4A is very top heavy, Karr and W.E. are heads above everyone else talent wise. This isn't to say they can't be beaten but the odds are bad. Neville could very easily make it to the Semi's if they get a good draw. If W.E. and Karr end up on the same side, ?? I still think that Neville will be the team to beat in 2-4A. The Rams have to come to Forsythe this year giving Neville the edge. FP will have to throw the ball well to have a chance to beat the Tigers. All said, it should be a fun year!
