What are some of your thoughts on different teams after week 2 results? Some teams looked better, some looked worse & some as advertised . It’s still very early in the season but seems like this season will be very interesting.

Kentwood and OG have impressed me the most so far in 1a non-select. I’d like to say WSJ is the favorite, but the shalacking they took last week makes me think otherwise. Haynesville is sitting 2-0, but just barely. Our defense will make it tough for anyone to score on, but our running game has looked mediocre at best.
Having our Senior QB miss the entire 1st half of a game because of disciplinary issues is unacceptable! He needs to do exactly what the coaches tell him to do, just like everybody else that has come through that locker room has done in the past! Some of these kids need to realize it’s more than just about one person! You have a whole community of past, present, and future players counting on you to perform at a high level each and every Friday! If we can get every player to do their job with the right attitude then we will be in New Orleans in December. No doubt in my mind.

Our defense has played better than any of us thought they would after losing 9 starters. Offense is still missing 3 starters but our QB has played really well so far. Once we get those starters back our running game should improve a lot. Our defense has a very tough test coming up against Breaux Bridge who scored 21 points against Notre Dame in the 2nd half Friday Night. Amite lost their opener but bounced back to destroy Loranger and is still a title contender. Many has rolled so far but has 2 very tough opponents in their next 2 games that look capable of beating them. Welsh took a loss to a very good Kaplan team but could still contend in 2A. In Div III its Catholic NI, Notre Dame, and Newman as the front runners with Dunham and Country Day looking capable of challenging them. In 1A Kentwood seems to be distancing themselves from the pack. W.St.John seems to have taken a step back but i wouldn't count them out. Or Haynesville for that matter. In Division IV Southern Lab and Ascension Catholic actually play in District so we can eliminate one of them. Lafayette Christian and Vermillion Catholic are also in the same District so we'll see who's better there. Ouachita Christian and Opelousas Catholic could possibly make some noise in the playoffs.
