I'm going with West Monroe......and it ain't even close No, it really isnt. If their offense comes around to anything like last season you can forget it. Their defense is better than anyone in 5A. Will be interesting to see how Destrehans defense performs against Ehret next week. WM gave one drive at the beginning of the game, made an adjustment, and then one big play downfield. Ehret didnt do sheit. Ive been saying i like this WM team more than any other in recent memory based on potential alone. It is there and they look hungry AF this year. I see a Destrehan/WM match looming in the superdome that will be unreal. WM offense will have to be hitting on all cylinders by then to win as Destys offense is special. Right now Desty is just running the ball these first few games as teams are refusing to give up the downfield pass play. But if Destys defense is as good as advertised all bets are off the table. Seems Jeremiah at DT is unblockable and their defense is disgusting. We will see all things play out soon enough though. Am i sleeping on Zachary? Nope. I watched their game and their secondary is not good. Without those linebackers they in trouble.

It is certainly close. WM's offense can be exploited. Get a stop, go up 7 or 10 and make them play catch up. (Easier said than done, I know.) Defensively they are sound, but not invincible. I think Ruston is better than them and I think they beat WM at home this year.

I saw the last quarter of the West Monroe-NcGill Toolen game. Except for their late one in a million fumble recovery WM would already have one loss on their record.
One thing I noticed in the last quarter was the MT receivers were getting behind the WM secondary every time they called a pass play.

They simply don't match up well with a team who can stretch the field vertically. They will continue to have to rely on their front 7 to wreak havoc, which is their strength.Their front 7 is stout. In my opinion, they are still a work in progress on the offensive side, as well.
