What if I give you guys some "bulletin board" material to fire the eagles up. I was thinking about getting a video camera, putting on some Parkway gear and a mask, buying a huge stuffed eagle piñata, taking a huge 2x4 and whacking the living hell out of it while talking a bunch of smack about how the eagles suck this year! Then after the eagle piñata is torn all to shreds and laying on the dusty ground, i can piss on it while laughing into the camera you need some down time. maybe a weekend off. go hunting or fishing or do some yoga. see a Psychiatrist maybe. man I from south plaq. All we do is hunt and fish BTW...Psychiatrist already said there is nothing they can do for me

All the usual haters took issue with the statement that ECA hasn't lost a home district game in forever. I saw the thread and knew how it would go. good stuff.
Haters keep on hating.
In this game, I don't know. I just remember when ECA came back to 1-5A, everybody at Parkway was talking about how they were going to give ECA a beatdown to welcome them back to 5A...and then 56-21 happened.
I'd say that Parkway was better that year than this year. But so was ECA.
I'll still put money on Evangel winning the game this week. I don't think Parkway has it in them to come to ECA's house and beat them. It won't be 56-21, but ECA wins.

Pinion just threw down the gauntlet. I would bet, but I only bet whiskey

Parkway starting qb out for this game, he hurt his ankle vs Pulaski, his younger brother is getting the start. He did lead a couple of scoring drives vs Pulaski, so he has gotten his feet wet vs some good competition.

Just to let you all know this game will not even be close! Evangel is getting the offense ready and the defense is going to make a statement. We love it when everyone thinks we are not great then they get shocked when they play us. Evangel will win district with no problem. The only thing that the rest of the district needs to worry about is who is coming in second in district!

I have to admit that you got me with this thread.
I was thinking that Calvary Baptist had beaten Evangel @ Evangel the year we all did the radio, but it was actually the following year that Calvary won.

56-20 Final
Evangel's obituary may have been juuuuust a bit premature. One pretender down ...... five to go.

You were right. It wasn't 56-21. It was 56-20, with two beautiful Evangel touchdowns called back.

So pregame when the coaches were going to the press box, the Parkway coaches and film crew refused to go the top of the press box because they were afraid of a little rain(it never rained a drop). Denny Duron said i'll go up there and proceeded to climb up the ladder and the eca coaches were up top during the game. I'm not sure if the Parkway coaches went inside the press box, but at some point I think Denny figured out a way to take them behind the woodshed for sure.

Congrats to ECA for protecting the house.
I said they'd win and they did. However, I still have some crow to eat because I just didn't think they were going to pull of that big of a win. I'll take my crow with some black pepper and teriyaki sauce.

Well so, Eagles got a little spark, the surprise was how poorly Parkway played after they fell behind, Parkway was only down 21-12 going to halftime, but wait, Eagles put up 14 points in less than 3 min. Nice to see our Eagles play better , Winning does that!

Parkway didn't play poorly. They were just over powered. Never drop a sledgehammer on the Evangel "E" during pregame. Horrible move for Parkway.

This Friday night the Parkway Panthers will travel to west Shreveport to take on the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles in the 2018 District 1-5A opener at Rodney Duron Field. The Panthers will try to do what no other team in the greater Shreveport- Bossier area and that is to end the longest home district/conference winning streak in the state and country at Rodney Duron Field which is now 75. Evangel is 75-0 at Rodney Duron Field in district play and hasn’t lost a game in district play since November 2, 1990 to Plain Dealing 70-20 during the Eagles first year of high school football at Calvary Field (now Jerry Barker Stadium). Only four schools have gotten close to ending the streak at RDF: 1991 Logansport (ECA won 15-14) 1993 Logansport (ECA won 14-13) 2001 Ruston (ECA won 29-12) 2006 Calvary (ECA won 20-19) 2007 Homer (ECA won 48-42) 2012 Calvary (ECA won 49-42) In 75 games at Rodney Duron Field ECA has averaged 47 points to their opponents 17. The Eagles are 149-5 in district play since 1990 and they could win their 150th district game. Will the streak end this Friday night at Rodney Duron Field or can the Eagles go for number 76? Logansport had a lot of really good teams back in the 90’s.

Parkway with a sopre quarterback wasn't going to beat Evangel on its home field. I don't think anybody will be snapping this streak this year. Airline and Captain Shreve are the only district games left to be played at Rodney Duron.
And yes, the games Evangel had to forfeit in 1998 were the first three games, vs. Leesville, vs. Marshall, Texas and Notre Dame.
