Scotlandville is the best I have seen. Rayville may have been the best team last year. Not sure about this year.
Madison Prep kind of whipped up on Peabody last year in Lake Charles. Bossier I'm sure is really good.

We have the best team in the state. All of our losses and even our win over Bossier came with 2 starters out. We had to pull out of the Christmas Crossover and a match up with Yates due to the death of Coach Smith's mother, may she R.I.P. The loss to Scotlandlandville we got shafted and if you wanna see for yourself, the full game video is on Facebook with Off the Bench Sports. I think we beat them full strength in a rematch.
Last year, Madison Prep also had 2 D1 players, at least, and we had 1 senior last year. I like what we have, if our big man Jamal gets a bit more skilled and becomes of real use, we could be VERY VERY good. Us, Madison Prep and Sophie B. Wright for 3A this year.

In the state title game only 1 DI senior player for Madison Prep played, Josh Leblanc. (coming off an injury.)
Other DI senior was hurt (Kobe Julien) and did not play. This year Madison prep has one senior that is really good. Jahein Spencer. Did commit to UAB.
LHSAA must have score wrong. It has Scotlandville 90 Peabody 69 on December 1.
I look forward to watching 3A with the three teams you mentioned. Peabody always has a good team and I enjoy watching them play. Any competition in the St. Martinville tournament. I saw Westgate play and they are a pretty good team. St Martinville used to have some good teams. Looks like this year is not one of them.

Right. Leblanc was unstoppable and after the first quarter we couldn't hit the side of the barn in that title game.
I think we should be fine at St. Martinville.
No that score against Scotlandville is correct and that's how bad we got shafted. Like I said we were already down 2 starters and it was 4 pt game at halftime. I think Scotlandville made 8 or less field goals in the 2nd half, it was all at the line and we couldn't get a call to save our lives. If you watch that game it is 2 completely different called halves. The game was about 8 to 14 most of the second half until we had no choice but to press and foul at the very very end. It was bad the disparity, but see it for yourselves. But if that's an even called game, its a toss up.
From my point of view, Scotlandville looked to have a really really short rotation of players, I don't think the refs wanted to take em out of the game by calling too many fouls on them, I think they only dressed 7 or 8 for that game. Too bad we won't see them in another place. Very Very good team, everybody about the same size, so they could switch, all could run and ball handle, everyone did everything well but we are right there with them.

Scotlandville never really has a lot of depth but have enough players. Madison Prep is still in the learning phase and growing. Young team, spencer has to take over more. Sophie B. Wright is explosive with there 3 guys any given night they can win. Peabody, Bossier, Rayville seem to be really good this year. Woodlawn, Walker look like they’ll be ready come playoff time. That’s Woodlawn Shreveport by the way, Woodlawn Baton Rouge glory days long gone

Scotlandville and Rayville are the two best teams in the State, IMO.

Well we already beat Rayville without the 2 starters. We beat Rayville, Bossier, Red River during that stretch and lost to Scotlandville and Bossier in it.
Ive seen tape on Wright, same exact team we beat twice last year, same players, same game. We'll see if anything changed in 2 weeks.

Who y’all think the best team in the state is ? I don’t think nobody can stop this Scotlandville team They're probably at the top. I decided to go scavenging through MaxPreps to see if any team was close that hadn't been mentioned yet, and I found that Dunham, while having already lost by 2 and 11 points respectively to Scotlandville, has to be mentioned up there with the best, since their only 2 losses so far are both of the Scotlandville losses and they also have a nice win over a good Wossman program. At the very least, it's between them and Rayville for the best small-school basketball teams in the state, and after that, the only small school that would be remotely close is Country Day.
