Wow those are some big names. A lot of teams that were in the Final 4 this year. J-Hodge will be heading into 2A next year as well. Not sure who the favorite would be with Rayville losing so much.

Should be interesting. Port Allen returns most of their roster, Red River has McDonald and Rayville still has enough to make some noise.

Although they are known as a "football" school I was told Calvary Baptist dropping down from Class 2A will be significant for Class 1A basketball. This past season five schools were serious contenders for the Division IV championship (LCA, Central Catholic, Hamilton Christian, Opelousas Catholic and St. Mary's). Next year it will be Riverside, Country Day, Calvary Baptist, Crescent City, Central Catholic, Hamilton Christian, Opelousas Catholic and St. Mary's.

Calvary had a pretty good team last year, and Riverside and Country Day are always good.

Country Day and Riverside are both dropping? Why are they losing enrollment?
Country Day will be good and so will Riverside. Riverside is not like they were a few years ago. Is the school going to same direction as Reserve Christian? Timmy Byrd's old coaching spot.

Keep an eye on Southern Lab to be back next year. BRPrep you are fully aware of the middle schoolers who will be on varsity next year.

Add them to the contenders list in Division IV. The quarterfinals will be interesting for the first time.

Southern Lab had two talented middle school players. Could be immediate impact as freshmen.
