If you google to the definition of the word this is what you will find
"the ability to understand and share the feelings of another."
I would hope each of the visitors of this board can read this situation with that in mind
As far as schools that are 1a by enrollment the following situation occurred
University Academy of Cenla found themselves in a predicament Saturday due to the "split" they found themselves out of the playoffs as the 17 seed. To remedy this situation they played 3 games on Saturday to try to amass a high enough Power rating to qualify for playoffs. This didn't work out for them as they lost both games against C.E. Byrd. I understand some of you don't care if i mention that they would be the 17 seed which is actually higher than any of the schools in the 1a bracket, but this is my appeal; How can anyone be for including two winless teams in the bracket and leaving out a school that wanted in so badly they played three games in one day. How can you feel it's fair to those kids who worked and won 14 games only to be told they are good enough but 0-13 & 0-17 are. It becomes even more tricky knowing that another lab school who should be considering "select" by rule is one of these win less teams who is "non select" is getting in.

So cut the 1A level to 24 teams in the playoffs and give the top 8 a bye. No biggie...easy solution.

So cut the 1A level to 24 teams in the playoffs and give the top 8 a bye. No biggie...easy solution. That just means you have 8 less games in a severely watered down bracket. It doesn’t do a single thing to make it less watered down.

Actually scrap that....Division 4 has a greater % of teams in this division in the playoffs.......to even things out so I can have empathy add 2 more teams to 1A playoffs.
A triple header? Now that's funny
Division 4 = 64% make playoffs Class 1A = 61% make playoffs

plan to cut the playoff to 24 teams
well six teams took a bye between opting out or not having enough teams
if you take off the two win less teams and get to 24 teams this is what you end up with
24 teams 14-13 10-16 13-9 10-10 8-9 11-10 9-15 10-8 9-16 9-15 9-15 10-13 12-9 6-15 8-10 8-7 7-11 5-10 3-12 6-17 4-16 3-15 4-11 2-14

Public 1A is easily the weakest bracket of any.

Automatically limiting the Select brackets to 16 teams did this. 1A has almost twice as many Select schools as any other Classification. Its not the fault of the split that 1A has so many private schools hiding among the small town public schools. The LHSAA should have taken their heads out their backsides and given Division IV a larger bracket.
