So, is it true East Ascension beat Zachary 40-31 last week and Haughton beat East Ascension 41-23 tonight?
Maybe Northwest Louisiana has a contender this year after all.

Great win for Haughton. I was surprised as many. I remember them doing very well on 7 on 7 this summer or something like that.

Did we allow EA too much credit for their victory over Zachary last week? Deerfield would probably say, "Yes".
We make a lot of judgements here without waiting for real data.

The hell you talking about? I had Zachary losing to both EA and Deerfield and dropped them like a rock in rankings. I prefaced this fall before anyone on this site: spoke about the mass exodus of starters who left for whatever reason. Do you even read my posts or just selectively choose which one to talk about? There are no teams in Louisiana outside Karr and Curtis that could stay on the same field as Deerfield. I recognize 5A is supremely weak this season. There isn't a superpower and all the top teams are good to slightly above average. Nothing like the great teams we have seen the last few years. It is 2011 again where all teams are just good in the top tier but not great. Destrehan may be the best of the bunch but i wouldn't put any money on it. Parity reigns. Acadiana looks to have lost their best tight end in Week 1 and best overall player in Dillon Monette Friday.

Strange, fun fact Acadiana RB is Dillan Monette Southside QB is Dillon Monette Don’t think either are related

I have a feeling that The Bucs might be making a huge jump into the LSL Class 5A poll.

I have a feeling that The Bucs might be making a huge jump into the LSL Class 5A poll. Bucs are Northwest Louisiana.
Northwest Louisiana teams have to go undefeated and win a state title in order to rise above the"also mentioned" section of the poll.

The parity in 5A is refreshing.
I do feel Destrehan is the best of the bunch with depth, but I don't trust their defense. They are soft.
Outside of them it is going to be really fun to watch.
If WM get a smoked this Friday all hell will break loose as everyone realizes it really is anyone's year this year.
Acadiana had a chance to really make a statement last Friday and for one half of foorball it looked as if that statement was being made. But, then Ruston delivered their own in a very harsh atmosphere.
What we do know is Zachary isn't winning anything this year and will likely lose a couple district games to boot. Too young and team has too much to overcome this season.
Ruston is a team to watch as the year progresses. I'm impressed with what they are doing. Baugh is truly committed to be great. Watch them close.
Very disappointed in Terrebone. This really is a year they could take it another level and pooped a game away against a Jesuit team that lost to a st Paul's team that from all accounts has the worst offense they have had in over a decade--source being their own fans.

So downplay Acadiana and then say Ruston is a team to watch? Acadiana was up 21-0. Ruston scored on a fluke 80+ yard play. A fumble return TD and Acadiana busted a coverage and Ruston got inside their 5. Bad defensive penalty call helped them after that and it took 4-5 plays to get in the end zone from about the 2. Acadiana was the much better team.
