JH is on a 4 game losing streak. Been without our two best players and played some better competition. Should be gaining one of the players next week, and hopefully the other one shortly after.

Got destroyed by Acadiana in the finals of the Iowa tournament. We are a two man team and both players missed due to playing in the I-10 bowl.

Madison Prep beat Walker in the final game of the tournament. 93-88. Jalen Cook had 46 for Walker. In 4 games he scored 170 points.
Port Allen went 3-1 in the tournament. Lost the first game to Southwood in overtime. Beat Mcmain 62-50, Dunham 55-51 and Ville Platte 61-43. They still have not played a home game. Will not play a home game until January 14.

Was a great game, back and fourth the whole time. LA was missing one of their best players and the point guard. Iowa had a small kid that hit 7 3s.

last night in the Northwest basketball tournament, both the girls game and the boys games were Northwest v LCA. I wasn't able to attend either, but I'll put what I heard and saw secondhand.
boys: 47-39 LCA, who improves to 10-5 while Northwest's boys are now 9-6. From what I saw on social media, LCA was hitting their 3's and Vic lead the way as he won the tournament MVP. The win over Ville Platte in the semis (63-61 a couple of days ago) was really impressive.
When the next power rankings come out, these games will help LCA out, though their NISH tournament results will almost certainly keep the point gap between them and Episcopal about the same. While Holy Savior Menard's boys are also on LCA's tail, 2 losses since the last power rankings should keep them from jumping the LCA boys. Their next game is another shot at 4A's current #1 in the power rankings, Peabody; not sure how that Rayne game will affect them, though that is their only loss since the last power rankings came out so my guess is they stay number 1 going into that rematch (first time around, Peabody beat LCA 70-58).
For Northwest, they've gone 5-2 since the last rankings put them at 18, and I'd have to think wins over D-IV #1 Opelousas Catholic and 4A #19 Northside (subject to probably moving down a few spots) in their own tournament should give them a boost in 3A when the next rankings come out.
girls: 52-50 Northwest, who improves to 8-2. LCA falls to 15-1. Didn't see as much about this game, but a somewhat surprising result considering the LCA girls had already played this team and beat them by 22 at home.
It's high school ball, though, things happen and Northwest's girls are currently #1 in the 3A playoff rankings (and should still be when the next rankings come out). Other than LCA, their only other loss is by 2 points to a LaGrange team whose girls haven't lost to a Louisiana team they've played yet (they did lose to a really good 6A Arkansas girls team according to MaxPreps).
Looking ahead, the team ahead of LCA in the D-III rankings, St Thomas Aquinas, who is still undefeated at the moment and beat Holden by 19 recently, plays Northwest at Northwest January 11th; if everything goes as expected, this will be 3A's #1 against D-III's #1.

I'm gonna guess he meant the one that's #2 in the 3A power rankings right now and not the one where every time they pop up on someone's schedule I see 40 point blowouts.

I understand... but lets talk when playoff time comes. Their size can’t match Madison Prep, who is the actual 3A favorites.

I agree with that, and I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt in assuming either he was joking or hasn't seen Madison Prep yet and just doesn't know.

Girls Lake Arthur 54 Hathaway 52
Was a hard fought game. Neither teams shots seemed to be falling to good but that could have been due to the intensity on defense. LA missed quite a few free throws.
Boys Hathaway 55 Lake Arthur 51
Again another great game. Was back and fourth the whole way. Hathaway can shoot especially the Augustine kid. LA is just scrappy and athletic. We missed atleast 6 free throws in the final 2-3 minutes. Boys play Doyle today at home, should be another good one.
It's nice when you can catch a pair of great games like that. It never seems to work out where both the boys and girls are great games.

Brusly beat Port Allen by about 16. I left game with about 2 minutes to go.
Brusly played really well at home. Point guard Leduff, Big man Stovall, and Wing and quarterback Pennell all had good games.
