As I cover games, I’ll post observations here.
I’m at Lafayette High at Breaux Bridge tonight.

I'll chime in.
Lafayette High is 4-0, though this is probably their toughest game to date. Lead by Corey Dunning and a senior-laden group, they're the (fairly heavy) favorites to take their district and could be a playoff sleeper team. Probably more the type of team to get up and down the floor while Dunning uses his 6'7 frame and athleticism to affect shots in the paint
Breaux Bridge...I haven't seen anything from them but know that they are losing lead guard Seth Alexander; however, they return a lot of other key guys from last season's 4A championship team headed by senior wing player Deandre Hypolite. They'll still be a Chad Pourciau coached team, but with a lot of players coming over from football and just getting into basketball, it may take some time to transition. Still, by district play, they'll be fine and should win their new distict with no Carencro, STM, or Westgate.
Overall, I'm kind of on the fence but I think despite the fact it's their first game, Hypolite, Pourciau, and BB get the win, but LHS winning wouldn't be surprising at all since BB might struggle more than usual in their first official game on the court, and the football crossovers may not hit their shots just yet while LHS does hit shots and stays away from fouls just enough.
