Number 1 in 2A with a 19-5 record in Louisiana. went 2-1 out of state.
Power Ranking is 43.71. Pelicans have played up in class 20 of our 24 games this season. Only lost to Crescent City and Dunham in their class or lower. Lost to U High, Southwood and rival Brusly.
They have beat 3 5A teams, 6 4A teams, 6 3A teams.
The Pelicans are loaded. Maybe Rayville and Lakeview can hang with them. What yall think??

Should be an easy road to the semis I’d assume. I’ve seen Lakeview play and they’re solid. Rely on the 3 a lot since they don’t have much size. 2A winner should come from PA, Rayville, Lakeview, Red River, and I still say J-H, as we should have the best player on the floor every night and that’s big come playoff time. Same 5 from beginning of the year.

Yeah this is the second year without a district schedule. Just a tournament. Tomorrow vs Episcopal. I expect Port Allen will win by more than 10 points.
Port Allen has never won a state title in basketball. The community is pumped up for this team. Bradford is a really good player. Watch out for Colin Hollaway. he is 6 ft 5 in and is a very good player. Could be better than Hodge at the high school level. The only thing that stops him is himself. Port Allen goes about 8 players deep without any drop off. Coach Derrick Jones is a very good coach.

We’re going about 8 deep with 2 freshmen that get some time depending on the night. Only downside to our team would be size, as only Bradford and one of the Freshmen are above like 6’1. Most of the Rotation is around that 6 foot mark tho and that’s usually good enough at 2A.

Port Allen vs Lake Arthur on Friday for trip to Lake Charles. Rematch from last year.
I went to game last night and Port Allen won 81-49. Easy game. West St. Mary did not have a player that was better than any of Port Allen's top 8 players in my opinion.

Honestly I know the odds of us winning are a long shot but it will definitely not be a cake walk like your two previous games. We lost several key players from last year. We did return our best player and a guard that can fly. Our defense is actually tougher this year than last but we just don't have the shooters. I know our kids believe they can win and won't roll over.

Good. I would like to see a competitive game. Blowing teams out in playoffs does not prepare for a tough game which will happen in semifinals and finals.
Tough defense can get you a long way. Port Allen does have quite a few good shooters, but with defense in their face it's a different story. When they are open shots they are really good shooters, with pressure maybe 2 players are reliable. If you go to the game tomorrow it will be worth your trip. The point guard Tawasky is a special player and big guy Holloway is also. The point guard is not 6 feet tall, but is lightning quick and can jump out the gym. Excellent ball handler also. I am interested how he fares against elite defense. I have seen him have great games and so-so games.
If you have never been in the Port Allen gym it has seating on 2 levels. Up top on both sides and down at bottom level on home side. Can be a good crowd.

Port Allen and Rayville were definitely the top 2 teams in 2A by a good margin. Wish the championship could’ve been played with Fans. Also wish there weren’t so many fouls. 3 of the best 4 players on the floor fouled out, the other being Holloway who was dominant throughout. He hopefully can find a lower D1 school to sneak into. Definitely has some talent.

I told yall before season started.

Derrick Jones is a great coach.
Only has 1 Division 1 player for sure that is a senior. Tawasky Johnson could be D1 player. Jalen Knox is a sopre and could be a D1 player. EJ mcquillan could be a D1 player and is a freshman
