People are walking around with the Covid virus than what we are being told that the “real” numbers are.How many times do you go to the doctor for a cold....well the vast majority of people that contract this virus have no more than a cold.I think that the mortality rate is way off.....and we will all find this out after November. As far as this season is concerned...you could have all parents sign special “Covid “waivers.I mean we already have to sign waivers.....kids die and/or become paralyzed every year. These tragedies happen all over the country every year.If you don’t want your son to play, then don’t play.....but don’t punish those who do want to play. And if you don’t want to coach, then find a new job.I have a lot of older people in my family.....you know what... they kind of stay home and quarantine.I have an uncle that’s overweight, has high blood pressure,69 years old,and borderline diabetic. He pretty much has every risk factor that there is,so he is lucky enough to stay home and work from home.I bring him groceries, etc. He does not go anywhere that would be considered risky for him.Just use common sense people!

Im beginning to question it myself as i referenced in another thread. Been exposed saturday before last; been 8 days and yet to show any symptoms. My grandpa was around his grandson who was one day from showing symptoms and is 90yrs old. He hasnt showed any symptoms also for over a week. 5 people were exposed to my brother and none are sick. Something is afoot!

The numbers are undoubtedly off - medical professionals have already admitted that if you die from ANYTHING while positive for COVID they are recording it as a COVID death - so one could die of cancer (clearly not affected by COVID) while COVID positive and it gets recorded as a COVID death - does that seem logical to anyone?

I think the number is even higher. I have COVID right now as I type this. I tested positive last week. The people who gave this to me never got tested. I know there are numerous people who have symptoms in that same family who have refused to be tested. Without an actual Quarantine of people who are ill, which we do not have with thim pandemic, it will never stop the spread. I am hoping to be over this by the end of the week, at that point I will become very vocal about mandatory quarantine of COVID patients. ALL COVID patients.

I don't disagree that when we look back, we will see that information was a major issue during this public health event. However, when one says "use common sense people" after describing how they care for a high risk relative, I am assuming that you will not be in contact with ANYONE who is participating in higher risk activities. It is safe to assume You won't be attending any games on Friday night this fall, nor will you be in contact with anyone who is doing so. Because common sense says if you are in contact with your at risk family members, AND also mingling about, you are going to bring the virus to them.

I am glad you are not experiencing severe issues. The one "problem" with the idea of mandatory quarantine of all COVID 19 stricken individuals is as has been noted many times, apparently since March they have discovered that asymptomatic transmissions are quite probable.(Unfortunately, I believe this contributed to mask wearing became politicized) So the idea of just keeping those with symptoms quarantined may not have the impact desired. Better than nothing though.

Better than nothing though. The concept of an Asymptomatic that is a super spreader is fallacy. There is no known transmission of the virus from an asymptomatic person to one who tests positive. They ASSUMED that asymptomatic people could spread the disease, but the testing is not proving it out. (They have used dna testing of the virus to try and prove it came from a specific asymptomatic person, but it is a leap of faith and not scientific proof) Early on, back in March and April, they talked of these zombies walking around infecting the masses. In laboratory situations yet there is no transmission. Reason, because they are not producing the virus in large enough quantities called the viral load or because they do not have symptoms they are not spewing their bodily fluids out to the masses. It is all conjecture with little to no evidence that Asymptomatic people spread the disease. We were worried about who we might have infected and were told by the physician that we were not contagious until we started showing symptoms. COVID Mary does not exist.

Some similar viruses shed earlier some later, per the article. Also, the definition of what is an Asymptomatic patient and a pre-sypmtomatic patient is a fine line. I called myself asymptomatic, but I was really pre-symptomatic. Hindsight will tell. But the lack of followup with patients suffering from COVID means there will be a lack of data to determine a true epidemiology. This is were I believe the government has dropped the ball. Unless you get hospitalized, there is no followup with you. So they really do not know how you are progressing or how the disease progresses in the populace. And it is different from person to person depending on their immune system response.

Lots of doctors on this site I see. Must be Dunham, Episcopal and Catholic high alumni! Funny that you posted this, because the people driving the narrative on social media and in the news media are not doctors. The ones in charge Fauci, has not touched or treated a patient in over 40 years. He is bureaucrat who works in an office making up policy. IN the mean time, real doctors who see patients every single day are being told by the FDA, CDC, Big Pharma and Bill Gates (who has no degree what soever, is a college dropout and who stole his first OS from IBM is the all wise OZ) are being told to shut up or we will pull your medical licenses and they will face disciplinary action.
