The bills failed by a 51-31 vote. Maybe now we can get down to the business of creating the best brackets and divisions possible.

I do believe that right now the 4A-5A coming back together and rural/metro for 1A, 2A, and 3A is the best way... For now... Does anyone know if this actually has a shot of passing and the principals attitude towards it???

If the problem is competition, the best solution is the competition committee that can deal with individual programs and place them where they should be placed. You do not even need all the parameters set up to go that direction. Form the committee and task them with setting up the tools to evaluate the teams. Either they can compete for district honors and playoffs or they cannot, it is ridiculous to do it in some classes but not all. bringing one class back together nullifies the argument that you all have made up about controlling enrollment, not having bad kids in the schools, or whatever other faux excuse is current.

Think maybe we should stick with what has been voted in time and time again. Work on making it the best possible for everybody.

Always fighting to keep what they have. My question is, Why is there a need for a June meeting? The principals voted and let them move forward now.

Glad it failed. As much as I think the split is retarded and those who support it are silly, I don't think the government needs to be involved. They could only make it worse.

I think this bill getting shot down will put less emphasis on getting something done in June. The reason IMO June happened is the threat of legislature stepping in.

The veiled threat posed by the Legislature and Eddie Bonine is now done. I will bet you Bonine NOW tries to take credit for the bill being shot down!! Gentlemen, its time to move on and tweak what we have. A "split playoff" with the regular season having the ability for everyone to play everyone, IS A COMPROMISE. Now, lets cut down on the number of playoff teams (I think top 24 is a much better number) and move forward. I also would like to see districts and classifications stand pat for 4 years instead of 2, everyone be allowed to play up in any sport without ramifications on other sports, and each class be able to vote as to if they want split, or together playoff brackets. All of this is doable and will streamline the issue.

I still want the private schools to ditch the LHSAA (and have for several years), but that's not likely to happen this year. So we have what we have and it's time to move on. and since you want everyone to move on, I'll expect you to STFU about it and actually move on and talk about something else.

How can the current split be made 'best possible' for non- factory private schools who now are in a division where instead of 10-20% of the schools are too much to handle it is now 50%? Bigbob has suggested that they improve their 'selection' methods, i.e. recruit athletes. I though that was what you guys hated.

But wait aren't they going to vote on letting 5A and 4A come back together. See why the principals cannot work together the rules change as the wind blows.

He is doing EVERYTHING but that!! Bonine is attempting a covert strongarm of the association to make good on promises he made to get the job!! He had no idea that the push back he would get would be from the VAST majority!! He was told that "No one wants the split". Wonder who told him that.........Guice, Burl I'ves looking Bonnafee, etc..........

The hope for Fast Eddie is by calling a meeting (illegally) in the summer (approved illegally by the EC) he can get the votes needed for his (Notre Same High School) urban rural plan, dependant upon who does and does not show up at the meeting. This guy is not a leader. He is a yes man.
