You have to remember, this is coming from a parent, not a player. Most players that play in the games, don't think that way. Barbe has up and down years, just a good run of kids. Is this sarcasm?, It is hard to tell sometimes. Have your ever been to Barbe's facilities? Have you even sat in the stadium? If not I suggest you take a day trip down McNeese Blvd. East to West. First you will run across the new Charter school on the left. Nice really nice facility. Then as you continue down you will see a change in facilities. Things will start to look old and run down. That big stadium is McNeese Football, a couple blocks later the baseball field is kind of run down and needs updating. Keep going till you get to the dead end. There you will find a state of the art, covered stadium with chair back seating all the way around on the left. That's Barbe it is the nicest facility on McNeese Drive and probably the nicest baseball stadium in Louisiana out side of Alex Box, and soon to be Russo Field. No one public or private has what they have built at Barbe. They do a great job of marketing the program to bring in the best talent too. Just don't expect to be recruited by Tulane. This will not change, now drive over to LaGrange and look at their facilities or to Washington Marion cross town. Then you will understand that NO public school in 5A has much of a chance, year end year out against Barbe baseball.

Guess you live in lake charles, cause I didnt think mcneese athletics was in that bad of shape. Its about time barbe got something, they been playing football at lagrange for years. They live in the richest part of lake charles, and with their success, im not surprised that they have what they have. Maybe mcneese can start hosting games there soon...or scrimmage them, probably a win win for both teams.

Barbe has it all, in LC, they are the king of the hill and will always be the king. The school board will make sure of it.

Put them on the varsity side of the bracket. They probably don't like playing JV anyway. Lol

clearly them winning 3 straight 5A baseball championships, which hasn't been done before IIRC, is bad for the LHSAA. it just happens to coincide with class 5A adopting the best of 3 series in the 2nd and 3rd round of the state playoffs. would yall support going back to single game playoffs all the way through to increase the likelihood of an upset? other 5A teams need to feel like they have hope No worries, Haughton took care of it for all parties involved...

Needs to be 2 out 3 till semi's. That also eliminates the problem of teams not agreeing on playing Monday or Tues which should be up to the home team anyway.

Having a 2 out of 3 series Fri/Sat would be better than a Monday or Tues game where students have to leave early get back late.

i hope... i want to see a game at the lower seeded team during the midweek like Tuesday or Wednesday and then a Friday-Saturday series or a Saturday doubleheader at the higher seeded team. if a rainout for the weekend then use the first game to determine who advances and make sure everyone knows that beforehand that way everyone who makes it can experience playoff baseball

Geez North and south split isn't a bad idea, with the caveat that very often, Lake Charles and Lafayette will be considered "north" to balance out the state. I mean we already split each class like that to put principals on the executive committee.

I guess this thread finally got its answer. The name of this thread itself is freaking absurd. Why is it someone's job to stop Barbe's run? This is exactly why their is a split. Self serving people thinking they have to find a solution to stop a high school from being successful, ridiculous.
