I'm starting to think that district is full of above average very good baseball but no real elite team. St. Thomas Aquinas and Doyle are elite for 2A. But elite 2A teams take unexpected losses sometimes because they're trying to cram 4-5 games in each week when they don't have the pitching depth for a such an aggressive schedule. Kinder does the same thing and it really hurts their record, especially this year. STA has wins over Walker, Ascension Episcopal, West Feliciana, Rayne and Dunham so I'd say they're elite for 2A.

Well the time is almost here for our Bulldogs. We have listened to Winnfield talk so much smack but tomorrow night we will show them that we should be taken serious. Red River baseball is here to become elite. Y’all just watch what happens to Winnfield tomorrow night

I just looked at Red River’s schedule. Weirdest season ever.
They have played 25 games, and 22 of the 25 have been 10-run rule games.
15 of RR’s 18 wins have been by 10+ runs
All 7 of their losses have been by 10+ runs
Truly bizarre.

Winning percentage of the teams you’ve beaten is 25%. Beating bad teams doesn’t make you good. Haven’t beaten one team with a winning or .500 record........ Don’t look to far ahead, you’ve got a 5-17 negreet team that’s ready to pounce.

Well DeQuincy got Rosepine again, this time 6-4. Kinder just dropped St. Ed's like a bag of dirt 15-2 to avenge an early season loss. Kinder has Vinton tomorrow and Rosepine on Thursday. District doesn’t end til next Thursday. Stay tuned. 5-2A could get a little weird. Saw y'all were talking about Red River. They lost to Negreet 5-3.

District 10-2A is even worse. Doyle just beat St. Thomas Aquinas and Springfield just beat Pope John Paul. Doyle, St.Thomas Aquinas, and Pope John Paul II are in a 3 way tie for 1st. Springfield, in 4th place, is only 1 whole game out of 1st. And 5th place Northlake Christian is only 1 game back in the loss column.

I’m really interested to see what LCA is able to accomplish this season in the playoffs. I have said all along that they probably aren’t ready to contend for state championship yet (just way too young) but the season they have put together has been really impressive.
After beating Kaplan tonight, the Knights are now 23-4 and #2 in the Division III power rankings behind Notre Dame. Their 4 losses have come against D2 #1 Parkview Baptist, D3 #1 Notre Dame, 1A #1 Grand Lake (which they later avenged, handing Grand Lake their only loss of the season) and D2 #4 Teurlings.
They also have a game scheduled with D4 #2 Ascension Catholic next week.
For a team thats never won more than 13 games in a season and starts 3 freshman and only 3 seniors (and has three 8th graders that play roles)...heck of a year, regardless of how it ends.

Negreet may be the worst baseball team in LA. Are you basing on when you guys played them or their schedule as a whole? Looking at Negreet's schedule it look like they're a hit or miss type of team. Like rrhsbaseballfan said. I've seen some bad teams and they wouldn't be able to beat or play with the teams that Negreet had played this year.

I’m not trying to be sarcastic or rude this is a genuine question. I’m just asking because I know he is young and I was wondering how dominant he is now vs how dominant he will be in 2-3 years progressing.

Winnfield is struggling this year with youth and a lack of quality pitching, but they are still miles ahead of Red River. Red River is following a path for failure in both baseball and softball. Schedule the absolute worst teams you can find for the first half of the season and run up a big, impressive record. Take some beatdowns from a few bigger schools that can actually play, in order to pick up some power points to help your rankings. Get embarrassed in district. Make the playoffs as the most overrated team in the state in your class. Get humiliated in the first round. You haven't gotten better. You've scheduled better. Know the difference.

People on here are trying to say Red River is a team to beat? You've got to be kidding me! The teams they beat have an average record of 4-12 while they have lost to teams with an average record of 16-9!
Their only close games were these: 5-1 win over Haynesville (8-12) 3-0 win over Montgomery (9-12) 5-3 win over Saline (8-12) 5-3 loss to Negreet (6-14)
Seems like coach is trying to schedule a soft schedule for a nice looking win-loss record but that won't help come playoff time. Once they schedule real teams then I'll consider taking them serious.

Loreauville is young this season, replacing 8 main guys from last season including top 2 starting pitchers.
This years young pitchers have pitched really well and that's how we're winning games. Team ERA is 2.05 and opponents are hitting .221 against the Tigers. Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .269 as a team with only 1 home run. Even though they are young and struggle at times, they are a good fielding team with a fielding percentage of .918.
Schedule has been tough as always because Sulphur is the ultimate goal. Will finish 2nd in district behind Ascension Episcopal.
Good Wins: Lutcher (3rd/3A) North Vermilion (4th/4A)
Bad losses: Chalmette (28th/5A) Covenant Christian (8th/D4) Highland Baptist (11th/D4)
Good losses (experience wise): South Terrebonne (6th/4A) Breaux Bridge (1th/4A) Ascension Episcopal (5th/D3)
Remaining Schedule: Notre Dame (1st/D3) Red School (9th/D3) Ascension Episcopal (5th/D3) Rayne (10th/4A) Franklin (42nd/2A)

I’m just here to defend those boys that go out and play hard every time they hit the field. We have a long ways to go to be a team to beat but they are putting in the work and getting better. Our program is starting to develop from where it has been in the past. We’ve started a jr high program and working on a league. We have the facilities now to grow the sport in our area. It’s gonna take some time but our boys will be taken seriously in time. Just don’t understand why people on here wanna try to trash on these kids. Our district will get to see the work that’s being put in on their part starting today.

There are plenty of the teams that we’ve beat this year that would have beat us in previous years. We are a very young team as well only 2 srs on this team. Starting at least 3 freshman every game. We know we are nowhere close to where we are trying to get but some of y’all just don’t want to see that we are improving. This evening we shall see just how much we have improved if Winnfield is so many miles ahead of us.
