I guess they have been playing in MLB spring training games They've played a very tough schedule but ranking a 2-9 team is just ridiculous. Their 2 wins are against St. Louis and Opelousas Catholic but come on man. |

Although these polls have their flaws, a quick glance reinforces my thoughts about having split championships in only the small classes (1A and 2A). There is no need for them in the larger classifications.
4 of the top 5 in 5A are public
5 of the top 6 in 4A are public
4 of the top 5 in 3A are public
And then there’s the small schools where 8 of the 10 in each class are private (or “select” ) schools.

I don’t think the small privates really pretend to be anything. But they are classified by their enrollment (other than those that choose to “play up”), so it is what it is. And the split makes sense at that level. |

Big city private schools ? You really think they're the same as public schools in towns of 1,000 to 4,000 people. At least John Curtis has the stones to be real about what they are and play up. Things seem to be going down hill at Evangel but at least they haven't been pretending either. Very interested to see what they(Evangel) do for the next reclass. |
