When Coach Shows came before long he had a more mature team as did the rest of our district. He introduced the option which was hard to defend and in the mid nineties he had three exceptional year classes come through which WM has not had since! He won Championships with those three classes and also transfers that wanted to be a part of it!!! See, It's usually not the way you think it is it's the way it really is which is why I take exception to the false accusations!!!! Bradie James, Cam Robinson, DJ Banks, the Cedar Creek QB whose name escapes me, Jon Randall Belton ... These are just a few off the top of my head who were not West Monroe guys who suddenly found themselves on that side of the river in Ouachita Parish. I'm sure there are dozens more who I can't think of right now. I know recruiting happens. I've had friends who were recruited. I've had friends' kids who were recruited. Does it usually come from the coaching staff? No. It usually comes from boosters. But that's still recruiting. But I'm not the one who mentioned recruiting. I used the word transfer. Whether they are legal transfers or not, West Monroe has built its program on the backs of players who started their high school careers at other schools. So any West Monroe person who points the finger at another program for getting transfers is simply laughable. Adam McConathy Neville Tommy Banks OCS Larry Wright Ouachita The first to really start it all. But in fairness Neville screwed McConathy over from what I've been told by himself and others. Tommy Banks transferred in 7th or 8th grade. Larry Wright was in a logjam at Ouachita with Jermaine Brown becoming a dominant asset after his sopre year so he bolted. Andrew Whitworth also transferred from OCS I believe in 8th grade and Willis Britton transferred to WM after his sopre year I believe himself. I know things I wont say here due to trust from source that all but determines Britton left and never moved from Union Parish after leaving OCS. Bradie James was scouring the area for a better environment and even visited Ouachita a few times during that summer in 1998.

Whitworth lived in West Monroe while attending OCS. I was in school with his sister at West Monroe while he was at OCS. Willis Britton lived in Highland Court apartments by Tinseltown in West Monroe. Lived there until he moved to Searcy, AR to play at Harding. Your info on Bradie James is all correct but he made a legal move and was investigated and cleared to play. Seeing Isaiah George on this list cracks me up. He lived by me in West Monroe the entire brief time he was "in" Bastrop. Yes, the truth is when West Monroe was winning championships they got some high profile transfers. Just like those winning championships now regularly do. If they win another, they'll get some more.

Well, it matters not where you live if you are already enrolled in another high school. Any contact is still, by definition, recruiting. West Monroe’s biggest concern at present is an ongoing mass exit from there feeder program as more and more people are realizing that their child has a much better chance getting on the field elsewhere. Since WM is no longer competing for championships, the allure has left the program. Kids, and parents, are bailing..

St. Fred, OCS and cedar creek primarily, but now others are in the mix as well. Comes down to this, wanna watch from the sidelines and make the playoffs, or play and make the playoffs? WM is nothing more than a playoff team anymore. The age of Championships is Over.

hell, do you honestly think can beat them around here with their total enrollment of app 2300, a recruiting budget, the best players from w ouachita and a few more from the eastside of the river, a big help on officiation (with a little call here and there). had to laugh on that highland court comment. i know several that stayed there including bigcam. i look for wm to win again due to what i wrote above. that one big fat guy has changed the complexion for the last 7-8 games. not crying but hoping for fair calls.

Yes, the truth is when West Monroe was winning championships they got some high profile transfers. Just like those winning championships now regularly do. If they win another, they'll get some more. McConathy grew up in Rayville. He attended Riverfield Academy until about the 4th grade when his parents got divorced. His mom moved to Oakmont street and got a job teaching at Lexington elementary. His Dad, Jim, moved to West Monroe. Adam, attended Lexington and then Lee Jr High until right after his 8th grade football season when he transferred to West Monroe Jr High just in time to play basketball. Adam’s Dad, Jim, played college basketball and they thought Adam’s future was in basketball. Adam never attended Neville a single day so no Neville did not screw him over. You just completely made that up. And no he did not live in west Monroe his whole life, another fabricated lie. How do I know all this? I attended Riverfield Academy, Crowville, Lexington elementary, Lee JR high, and Neville. Jim’s 2nd wife was from Crowville and was one of my babysitters growing up and was best friends with my cousin. Her mother was my bus driver at Crowville and I used to ride 4-wheelers all over the Lamar area with her brother. Adam played youth baseball with my brother in Rayville as well. Brooks Greer and Matt Middleton also attended Riverfield and later ended up at West Monroe. Brooks transferred after his sopre year after his QB at Riverfield graduated (St Fred’s coach Andy Robinson). Middleton left when his dad got a coaching job at West Monroe.

LOL, either you haven't been reading the post above or you haven't Comprehended any of it but it doesn't matter!! The criers are going to cry no matter what!! WM will have to take the chance that the private Christian Schools will not take all their players LOL!!!

You know, in actuality, considering enrollment vs opponents and obvious recruiting of all of NELA, WM has underperformed throughout its history.

Ancient history. Of late, huge school, modest results. Gets geeked about neither a school 1/3 their size while annually getting smacked by privates.

WM should win, over twice as big or bigger than most opponents. 130 kids on the sideline (100 that will never play). Under performing giant of an school that hasn’t sniffed the championship in years.

Under performing giant of an school that hasn’t sniffed the championship in years. 2018 they sniffed it 2016 too. Just fell short. They will be back again in due time. But it will be awhile before it happens again. Destrehan alone is 3 classes ahead in terms of talent and the coaching of Marcus Scott is superb. He also has connections galore that will bring in the best players. Then there is Acadiana, Zachary, ASH all passing them by. This freshman team (WM) this year was supposed to be the stuff. Up here it is, but not compared to down there. Just another club.

IF your school recruits, saying others do it also doesn't make it right for your school, lol. I'm not singling out any school, because there are several that do it. When any school has a history of getting (and I don't care how legal they made it on paper) certain transfers from other schools and those transfers just happen to also be very good football players, then it doesn't take Albert Einstein to figure out certain things took place. NO school JUST HAPPENS to get transfers that are good ball players on a pretty regular basis. Maybe every so many years they may get ONE. Not even a school getting an NBA draft pick and an MLB draft pick and a star RB in a 5 year stretch? 😂

This program is in serious decline under current coaching staff. Good Players no longer want to play there anymore due to system. Especially offensive players. They go to Neville, Sterlington and OCS. Somebody better get in front of this before it goes to far.

WM beats Neville by two scores. Neville's offense is weak. One player has never beat WM. And as far as anyone out running the defense. Two of WM's DB's run sub 4.4. ::snicker::

The game has passed West Monroe by...
2 teams have now lined up and said "this is what we're going to do, try and stop us..."
that used to be my Rebs

If nevilles offense is weak? What exactly is WM? With less than 98 yards offense? Neville may have broke them tonight. I mean the program. Alexandria will Ivan Drago or Jake Paul/Nate Robinson their butt next week and finish them off. Ruston gets leftovers and feasts last week.

But I love the part about one player has never beaten West Monroe. It's still true. They were beaten by one player, a second string quarterback and a surprisingly good defense.
