Are the brackets and game start times for the state tournament etched in stone prior to the start of the season? Can they not be adjusted after the semi final teams are determined?
It is what it is but it seems like it would be better to schedule the teams traveling farther in the early time slots. I know it wouldn’t be feasible all the time but Winnfield hasn’t even started their game against Amite and the two earlier games teams were anywhere from 10 minutes to hour and half drive from Hammond.

They can't keep the starting times when they schedule it a year in advance. Imagine them trying to figure out how to schedule the semi-finals and finals based on who has the longer drive to get home that night. None of them has that ability. Why? Because that ability would require "common sense." Was Amite that much better than y'all, or do you think y'all just played a bad game?

We came out flat, missed a lot of easy shots, got back within 8 at the half. But then they just ran away with it in the second half. Honestly felt like we overachieved this year making it to the semis. Young first year coach did a dang good job. I do feel like our superintendent could have let the team leave the night before and get a good nights rest instead of getting on a bus at 9am, riding five hours, then sitting around waiting on a 9pm start for their game. As for the game times, I understand it wouldn't always work out, but it doesn't seem like it can be that hard to look at the five games you have slated for the day and if possible, adjust based off travel times to keep the bus drivers/ fans/ players off the road at 3am in the morning.

You gonna do that in the football playoffs next time you host a NOLA team and play at 4:00 P.M. instead of 7 so they can get home?
Don’t think a lot of teams do that so why would the LHSAA do so?

No I wouldn't expect football games to be adjusted, but your not making an equitable comparison either. If they have five games on the slate for one day at the same arena, could they look at the 10 teams playing and adjust the schedule using travel times as one of the factors for the adjustment? They absolutely could.

They absolutely could. We used to have such a system that limited travel (in the early rounds of the playoffs). The principals went away from it in favor of the power ratings in football first, then over the course of a decade in every other sport

Playoff games where one team gets to be the home team is a different comparison than what wshs is talking about. True, nothing can be done about a Lafayette team having to travel to Shreveport when the Shreveport team has earned the home game. But when you have four games in one city,(Hammond), and two of the games have a team from three hours away, how hard is it to have those two games played first? If the other two games are between teams around an hour away, why not have those games be the later games? That's wshs is speaking of.
