This final score, really??? I don't care what anyone says, Ouachita has and has had the best talent in Northern Louisiana for years. I'm not mentioning coaching or their work ethic. I'm just acknowledging how crazy this final score is with the talent alone that Ouachita has. ROCK BOTTOM!!! I'm just in awe by this They flat out quit (OCS made them quit, but still). It will never cease to amaze me that there are 5A schools that don’t have SOMEONE that can competently throw a forward pass. Just baffling. Attachments:

It's ouachita. That's all the explanation needed.

What ouachita needs in the worst way is to move down to division 2 .They don't have the football numbers anymore for d1. It's also not coming their feeder numbers were bad also. But your gotta play in the division your in.

But your gotta play in the division your in. It's a numbers game, and also keeping their players game. Losing Dade and Conner to St. Fred's off that really good 8th grade team with Dylan Berymon (LSU offer last week) and AJ Washington was a HUGE loss of talent. You don't replace those kids as one of the smallest 5A schools in Louisiana. Until they can hire a coach who can maintain his numbers in junior high and high school along with developing the talent they will continue to be low hanging fruit. They supposedly have another solid freshman crop next season. But, how many will transfer and be poached?

Logic- I know that Conner went to Ouachita Jr but I’m 90% sure that Dade did not attend. Instead Dade attended Our Lady of Fatima which obviously is a feeder to St. Fred’s. I’m fairly certain that Dade attended Fatima for several years. Dade then attended 7th and 8th grade at SF junior high which is on SF campus.

I am more referencing how Dades dad attended Ouachita and was all state in 96.
Ouachita also has a an alumni with a young man at WM in Lilly who plays LB. That is my point. They can't keep past players kids from attending how do they expect to build any school pride and community support? I believe Starr has a kid playing baseball at WM who is a big time prospect as well. Can't win like that.

Word on the street is Ouachita will be getting both Conner and Dade soon 🤫 bookmark it following I've heard the same, but won't ever mention these things unless it becomes a fact. Or to the best of my knowledge it has. If Ouachita does get both they will be dangerous with the young freshman QB last season who will be a good one as he grows. True freshman with lots of potential with proper coaching and development.

I do know Ruston, Westgate, Karr, Acadiana, and catholic will be superb. Neville finds themselves a QB they could be trouble as their defense and OL SHOULD be great. Lots of skill players returning as well. But they need to find an identity on offense and stick to it. Maybe Burch as the issue; maybe he wasn't the issue. But, Collins has that defense playing exceptional since he arrived and they need an offense to get over the hump. As for everyone else? Don't know. There were a lot of senior laden teams last year. A lot. STM likely doesn't fall far i would assume as well as zachary. Destrehan is struggling for linemen. Tons and tons of skill guys who are incredible but no linemen. Their depth is startling bad in the trenches. Curtis was a senior team. I expect Jesuit, Brother Martin, rummel. ..oh yes, rummel. They went unnoticed late last season with how they were winning with underclassmen and fighting injuries. They improved drastically over the year and played very well into playoffs. I expect rummel to be the favorite along with Acadiana and catholic into next season. I don't trust Karr anymore in 5A. They fold late. 5A is all Ruston or Westgate with possibly Neville coming in if they find a QB and develop their offense. WM? Speed. They need more of it badly to compete again for titles.

But with 130 players, there are tons of really good players that will be juniors and seniors that are ready to step in. The move to D1 will be interesting, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them in the dome again. They’ve built a machine there. LRCH will probably be a player in a few years. I think there will be a tough couple seasons prior to it though. It certainly will be interesting to see how fast they progress.
