2020 lost in semifinals 2021 lost in quarterfinals 2022 lost in regionals 2023 lost in first round for the first time since 1992
To the faction of WM folks with blinders on and who think wm is still good, surely you can see the trend happening.
To the administration: Get your act together and go hire a real coach and not someone the Rebel club recommends. You are cheating these kids.
Whoever the next coach is, some of these assistants need to go. They are not getting it done. Most especially whoever is coaching the offensive line. HORRIBLE

I’m so happy for the Northshore High people who have connections to our parish… I’m sure there’s a few who have us as like one of their second teams to root for…

It was beyond the pale. The didn't play music, they played abject noise and was too loud being on the visitors side. It may not be a rule in the LHSAA for such things but it was trashy and those students for WM were put in a bind as Northshores fan were irate and rightfully so. Playing a song or fine tune is one thing, but for every instrument to make horrible noise as loud as they can in everyones ear coudn't be anymore trashy and can lead to some seriously bad situations with fans. I saw police came up. Artificially induced noise sitting your band on the visitors side is next level gutter behavior. Put them in the endzone or where you placed Northshores band away from their own fanbase. Placing them right next to the visitors fans while doing what they did is a recipe for trouble. They had the last laugh I guess. Does this happen at any other stadiums? This scenario? And why hasn't the LHSAA done poop about it?

WM used to have their band in one end zone and students in the other… and I saw a highlight earlier and it looked like Northshore brought a lot more people than we brought last year… travel distance was about the same. But for the longest Northshore was a joke in football, but there’s more money in their district than in Slidell or Salmen’s IMO.

If I had a kid in the band I would be irate as well for placing them in such a situation with opposing fanbase. There isn't much worse for your ears than extremely loud obnoxious abstract noise. That is going to lead to some trouble and almost did tonight. Maybe the new staff decided this. Maybe it has happened before and I missed it, but I don't remember the band doing this sitting next to the visitors fanbase before. The Northshore band can be seen on the replay where they were placed away from their fans when THEY should be placed next to their fans. It is trashy. Everyone knows it and there is zero defense for such behavior. I don't give a poop if it is your home game. Want artificial noise? Place them in the endzone like you use to, or where the Northshore band was placed.

Antics? I think we forget this is kids playing a kids game with other kids showing their support. I have heard other schools bands do this as well, just not as effectively (or not effectively tonight) No other schools fans have gotten mad and started cursing the kids.
WM band does this in alot of situations down at that endzone against teams in crucial times of the game. Its not against the rules Period. Northshore is just the only set of folks who took an issue with it and started flipping the kids off and yelling F you. Adults yelling that at kids is whats trashy. I was sitting on the visitors side by the band. I saw this whole thing unfold. One lady went down and told the band parents that the kids were cussing them. THAT IS A LIE. I was sitting where I would have heard and seen this. When the band started doing it, it caused the northshore line to jump, another time it caused a bad snap. This enraged the northshore fans. At first the northshore fans were taunting the band b/c it didnt work, then the kids taunted them back the next time they got down to that side of the field. It was kind of entertaining to watch. Then adults, some who otherwise look like sweet loving grandparents started cussing out a bunch of high school kids having fun. If northshore wanted their band to sit by their crowd, they could have, their was plenty of room.
Now I do agree where WM sits is taking a risk, but its not b/c WM band is trashy, its b/c some adults are immature s and act like fools. Earlier in the game the cops had to go get alcohol from some of the folks behind me who cursed the entire game.
All that said, Northshore won the game. congrats to their team and most of their fans.

The people responsible for having those kids blaze their "noise" in everyone's ear who traveled 300+ miles is a POS period. You won't change my mind. It is gutter level dog poop. In a world of etiquette behavior it holds true. It wasn't music, it wasn't anything but in your face being a . Place their asses where you placed Northshores band away from their own fans. If other schools are doing it I'll put it on repeat as well. I've never heard that poop done anywhere else. It wasn't music it wasn't away from the visitors side and was complete low level gutter trashy. I said you could expect an incident and you almost had one. And it would be entirely on those responsible for such BS. Who the freak wants to hear "Noise" in their damn ear for 30 minutes? In any other venue it would he illegal. I don't pay to have my ears busted hearing noise at the highest decibel. You want to do it take your butt to the endzone or to the band area where northshores band was. It is purposeful and you are begging for a bad thing one day to happen. I was pissed because my damn ears were being blasted with incoherent noise for damn near 30 minutes. Amazing the poop one can get away with in sports you would be cited for in any other setting. Once again, it wasn't music it was straight blazing noise. I've never once heard that poop done anywhere in the state and I've traveled the entire state my entire adult life. I was tempted to get the police to get them to shut it up because I was getting a migraine from empty noise blasted at the highest level from every instrument in the band. No one should be exposed to that in any arena. Guess northshores fans haven't seen it before either seeing as they weren't too happy. Fools? Fools for having their ears blown off from the worst damn sound you ever heard? What world do you live in bro? It sure as hell isn't earth. Or maybe being a is just a WM thing. Whole school has lost its way. Appearances are deceiving. There isn't anything classy or special about it anymore. Surprised Ruston didn't bust a gasket themselves last week. I wasn't there so i don't know how they took it. I'm sure it wasn't well taken either. People lose it when their senses are being ransacked for minutes on end. And when there is no one to voice your displeasure to to stop it it compounds a volatile situation a worse one. Society has become straight crap. Let's blast the visitors ears in a close game for 30 minutes to piss them off. And I'm sure northshore isn't close to the first to lose it in a close game. Sterlington fans were as pissed I'm told.

Where does wm go from here coaching wise? They had several good candidates last go around with good resumes. They hired the least qualified. Nobody with a good resume will apply if it’s opened back up. KD did a good job for the most part I thought. Obviously losing first round wasn’t ideal for his chances but may be best they get at this point. KD has a pretty good resume and I think would be fine.
Wm would have to be one of the worst places to coach. They expect you to win every game regardless of talent or injuries. This isn’t the wm of 2000. That wm was passed up long ago before shows passed. Now everyone has unreal expectations.

No chance any big time names apply after how it was handled last year. Sorry, Lane gets all the credit for this hire! Which one? The Garvin one? WM missed out on bilderback (who is currently 12-0), Jess Curtis, and Brewerton. All have better résumé’s than Garvin who has head coached for two years. Even Davis has a better résumé. They took the chance with Garvin so now people know it isn’t about who is most qualified. The kids are the ones who are having to suffer. They are under their 3rd coach in 2 years. I’d be shocked if they open it back up. It was too much drama with terrible results last time. And to the people saying to clean house with the staff, that isn’t how Ouachita Parish works. New HC can bring in a few people. OC, DC, and occasionally a strength guy. All other staff stays.

I do agree the band should not be sitting by visitors. Why this is done i dont know. But lets not pretend that folks were cursing the band cuz their ears hurt. Give me a break. I was sitting right there by some good folks from northshore, they thought it was unfair. Again there is no rule. I have also been to most places you named. So what your your sayi g is wm had an original idea. Lol. I was at ouachita and saw this done by their band so who knows. Again, wm doesnt do this every game, only certain situations to distract the the other team. SOME northshore fans were just the first to get all butthurt about it

Compare the 2 below and you will understand wm coaching problem
"We want to win, and we are going to win no matter what it takes" Don Shows winner of 8 titles
"Well, we dont expect to win every game" A certain wm asst coach after getting embarrassed by zachary.
Did Don win every game, of course not. Nobody wins every game. But winners like shows would never make such a stupid comment. That kind of thinking gets you beat in the first round by a 5-5 team.
11 seasons since shows....0 titles.

Nowhere near the same athletes. Is everyone forgetting that this season was a bust from the start. Lucky to be 8-3 at the end. Could have been 3-8. The program was one day away from having 40+ players leave the team. Was almost much worse.

Said it before and say it again, it is a mistake to place someone in charge that has motives other than being Head Coach of a Championship Program. Arledge always said he had no desire to be head coach. KD didn't apply. Osborne thinks it's just his turn. WM needs a proven winner at Head Coach or just get ready to be a mid-district team that occasionally makes the playoffs. Sad state of affairs...

There is no rule and it does happen in other places. The LHSAA does not want to be in the business of regulating bands, nor should be.
