What happened to football at this school? I think before the hurricane they were decent in football. Did they not have enough kids come back to get football going again? I see now they are class C. I have saw them in basketball and they have some athletes

They did build a field behind their school, and they probably won’t need many to form a 1A team as a K-12 school, but with legit programs surrounding them on all sides it will be tough.
Pretty much everyone there knows someone in Chalmette, Belle Chasse, or the South Plaq area and that’s where they lose kids to.
Their district wouldn’t be too tough after Riverside, but the travel for them to play anyone else they belong on the field with is onerous

Numbers just not there! Parish government sees them as step children and does not do nearly enough to help that community!

Last I really heard anything about this school is when Haynesville played em, I believe it was 2003 if my memory serves me correctly.

Theyve been to state a few times in class C basketball… We played them in basketball tonight… they brought a good crowd to our gym They could probably be good at 6 or 8 man football… their enrollment was 72 at the reclass this year, not far behind Tensas and Plain Dealing who are both trying to hang on

Gotta be a matter of time u til 8 man comes to fruition in the LHSAA right? Well the last time it was being discussed, there was a cap on how big the school could be and participate.

Well the last time it was being discussed, there was a cap on how big the school could be and participate. That’s sensible. You don’t want anybody obviously sandbagging when they could be playing 11 man. 6 or 8 man should be a class C only thing. B schools are all big enough to play 11 man

B schools are all big enough to play 11 man I would include some B schools, like having the cap at 120 or something. The smallest B schools are really no different than the biggest C schools, just a few kids difference. Also that would allow for schools to continue to have the sport while bouncing between B and C like some of them do

I don't think Phoenix will ever have football again. They made a few good runs a few years back, but they just don't have the kids. I think they will focus their efforts on basketball and Track.
