Someone please educate me. What NOLA teams are you expecting to stand out during the 2024 season?
Did Jesuit lose a lot of contributors from last year's team? If so, did they re-load?
How do Brother Martin and John Curtis stack up in 2024?
What about St. Charles Catholic? I think they had a lockdown pitcher last year who has at least 1 season remaining.
Are there any significant D1 prospects to watch in NOLA? I think Rummel has 1 or 2 kids.
What the heck - - throw in some Baton Rouse scoop, please. I'm guessing Catholic is the power team in BR. How do Dunham and U-High look?

Chalmette has 2 D1 commits in LHP Bryce Wilson (ULL) and Cameron Tipton (Troy)
Plus some good players around them

I have very little that is positive to add concerning the team I follow - - Newman, which lost 10 seniors.
There are zero returning starting pitchers. No pitcher on the 2024 roster threw more than 4 - 5 innings of garbage time in the 2023 season.
Of the 8 fielding positions, I'd say 1.5 kids saw meaningful playing time in 2023. And neither of those kids is returning to that same position this season.
So, yeah, it's a completely brand-new team, and 2024 looks like it will involve a lot of learned lessons.
But there are 3 kids with higher-end travel experience (one that should garner D1 attention; one that should garner D3 attention), and a few more with lesser experience.
I can see 2025 and 2026 being much brighter. During the 2025 and 2026 seasons, I like how they match up in a best-of-3 series during the playoffs - - especially with St. Charles Catholic moving up (and hopefully U-High).

Who wants to give their Nola Top 10 overall teams? Or even statewide Top 10-15?

I don't know squat, but I'll give you the easy 3 on the state level: #1 West Monroe #2 Catholic #3 Barbe As for as NOLA, I'll just wildly guess #1 Jesuit #2 Rummel #3 John Curtis #4 Chalmette #5 St. Charles Catholic #6 Holy Cross #7 Brother Martin

Yeah we kicked off three kids who had alcohol in the locker room after the first game, but none of them were expected to make or break our season

Yeah we kicked off three kids who had alcohol in the locker room after the first game, but none of them were expected to make or break our season I had heard the story; I wasn't looking to poke anyone in the eye. Okay then, here's my real question: how in the world did Chalmette lose on 3/5/24?? I was assuming that Chalmette must have played without multiple starters. But your answer to my prior question indicates otherwise.

maybe I have the date wrong - - so I'll come at this directly: how did y'all lose to Kenner Discovery?

I wasn’t there but it’s baseball and we had a bad inning… we were pitching our #3 against who I assume was their ace… the bright spot is that we put a new arm in for his first appearance and he kept KD at 7 for a few innings.

My two cents;
BM has proven to be the best team in Nola. Let’s see if the hold it.
Jesuit has some 10th grade studs. But not ready yet.
Holy Cross is not it. Not quick fix either.
Chalmette has a lot of pitchers.
JC isn’t there.
Who is missing?

Also don’t count out Coach Turnage at Pearl River BM has a few losses so far. I’m not gonna concede anyone is better than us the way we’ve played even though our schedule is a little soft

If I was, Slidell would be mentioned.

But since Newman didn’t hit for crap, I don’t know if it would have changed the final result.
