Lafayette Christian reportedly forfeits game one to Teurlings Catholic after alleged pitch count violations at Yep. Apparently “Gamechanger” had the count wrong. And Teurlings reviewed postgame, found LCA kid was 4 pitches over, reported it, and was awarded the win. Anyone who knows Austin Robichaux, or is familiar with his dad, legendary Ragin Cajuns coach Tony Robcichaux, knows that this would NEVER happen without some crazy circumstance. But it is what it is. Sucks for the LCA kids though. |

Its very unfortunate for LCA, Austin is a very good young coach and its a mix up that comes to bite them in the end, this is the 2nd year in a row a situation with pitch counts in the playoffs cost a team who won Game 1 into a forfeit (Episcopal BR vs. D'Arbonne Woods Charter in 2023).

Sucks for the LCA kids though. I looked at the Teurlings Gamechanger, looks like the pitcher finished the previous batter at 116. Tough to lose on a miscommunication like that. Definitely not something intentional. |
