I thought they would be much better. Losing to some of the teams they've lost to shocks me. They might have been a little overrated.

Rosepine is a solid team, especially with their lefty on the mound. They are going through a rough patch but Coach Smith will have it put together come play off time. Many is having a great year, I hear you guys have a really good team!

Yes we are playing well, letting everybody talk about Menard and Rosepine in district. We just keep winning. The way we are playing we are as good as anybody out there.

Up until district starts its all fun and games and experimenting with lineups and getting the underclassmen some experience but when the district season starts that's usually when the best teams start to rise. So don't fooled by some of the team's records, like #4 Madison Prep for example. They just been feeding on a very weak schedule and are in a very weak district. In 2013 we made it to the State Semi Finals as a #15 seed, losing only to eventual State Champion Evangel 1-0. Ya just never know.

Good reference Jackets94!!! Looking at the schedules of some of the top teams, there will be some HUGE upsets according to rankings, but not a HUGE surprise for those of us that know that the usual suspects show up for the playoffs every year in 2A!! In my humble opinion...

Saw Rosepine tonight. We were able to cruise to a 10-5 win over the. At Many. Rosepine has a well coached team. I was wondering why their record wasn't better. They seem to have a lack of pitching this year. I can see why they have struggled in some stretches. Scary team to play but their pitching isn't what they have had in recent years.

They have some young guys but the top 5 in that lineup can hurt you if they are on and yes Jeff is a very good Coach

Going to be a fun series in DeQuincy, two former district foes, both head coaches have been long time friends...should be a big crowd with nice weather next weekend! I said earlier in the year that Rosepine would be just fine, and here they are in the Quarterfinals.

Great job today. We pitched really well both games. Welsh I was told is very young team. They will be a force next year. I am curious why Hayes kid didn't pitch? saw him pitch against Byrd and was impressed.

They were down 4-0 in the first. Starter struggled a little and we hit him. They threw another kid who had good arm but was told they threw three JV guys from 3rd-7th inning by my son. In 2nd round have to have stable of pitching but very odd he didn't throw. Must have sore arm or something minor because his arm from CF looked live.

Zach Hayes is not injured he is good to go. Why in the hell would Welsh not throw their best arm in the second round? Got to more to that story right?

No there are no issues with Zach. They just had a game plan and sometimes it just does not work out in your favor.

Fair enough, but watching DeQuincy play Welsh twice and Rosepine once...I do firmly believe Welsh would've had a better chance to win a game in the series by throwing Hayes...I mean the kid is a mid 80s lefty with a nasty breaker...oh well, I'm not a coach so. Good year for the Greyhounds, we had some good games with you guys this season! Y'all return every starter next year correct?
