Great team this year for sure, even more impressive is the character of the group. Top to bottom a talented, hard working, humble group of young men. Impressive to watch.....even as a dreaded rival from across the river.

I've heard a lot about this team and hope to see them soon. I heard from a couple of guys that they are better than the Barbe team a few with the Jordan brothers. That's VERY hard to believe.

A very high round draft pick.

I don't think any team will ever be that good although this years West Monroe team is very good but not as good as that 2014 Barbe team

A very high round draft pick. W.Monroe could very well win the state championship this year,BUT they don't play in a strong district like Barbe does.Look at district 3-5A,3 teams in the top 4 power ratings and 5 teams out of the top 11.Barbe,Sam Houston and Acadiana might have gone undefeated in W.Monroe's district also??? You're right, baseball at this point is when you want to be playing your best. Now is the best part of the season, the playoffs!

I agree that West Monroe's district isn't as strong as Barbe's, I was just making the point that just because Barbe beat W. Monroe 1-0 early in the year doesn't mean that they are a lock to win the state championship. Having seen both play this year, I'd roll the dice with W. Monroe. On another note, the first round games for the public side of the baseball playoffs are going to be an absolute blood bath.

I think 5a 1st round games will be competitive. Other classes will be terrible.

I think 5a 1st round games will be competitive. Other classes will be terrible. Class 4A had 2 major upsets and only 2 games decided by the 10 run rule. Class 3A, 6 games decided by single digits including Winnfield upsetting defending State Champ West Feliciana. Class 2A had 7 games decided by single digits and 1 of the 10 run rule games lasted 6 innings. In 1A # 11 Kentwood got their 1st ever playoff win in their 3rd year having a baseball program. So it hasnt been all bad.

Every team has at least one guy that can pitch and keep it under 3 runs when he is on. Throw in couple errors and anyone is beatable. I knew there would be a lot of upsets and 1-2run games because of that guy that everyone basically has
