In case u haven't heard : In Class 5A, #2 Barbe falls to #31 Haughton in Bi-Distrct playoffs. The 3 time defending State Champs lose.2-0.

Barbe had a tremendous body of work for the year...the 'actual gameplay' you are referencing is not a good point to make if your trying to knock Barbe. I wouldn't put much weight into early season tournaments: Team A can pitch their 3rd pitcher against team B that is pitching their best pitcher and it skews everything. Head up one game or head up best 2 out of 3 is completely different than a round robin tournament. Always so many variables. Kids coming out of football and basketball, arms not ready, etc etc. |

The LHSAA is contracting an 18 wheeler to haul the 48 trophies and the coach and principals plaques to sulpher. |

With so few Select schools in the division, it suffers the least impact. While Haughton would not have made the playoffs if you added the 10 or so Select schools back to the mix, the true nature of this will be displayed not in the one and done first round flawed playoff system, but in the multiple game second round. IN 5A and in 4A for the most part, you can ride you ace's arm to a single win. But when you have to string two or more together to win it is a whole other senario. Let's see how they do in round 2 against a lessor foe Denham Springs. Can they win more than one? But congratulations to Haughton on the win, I am all for anyone taking Barbe out of the playoffs. |

So why bash a kid for doing something he chooses to do Lol...it's illegal for highschool coaches to contact and recruit kids from other schools. I didn't say anything about the kids, I said that I did not like the way that the Itilian illegal recruits kids from Lake Charles and the surrounding areas. |
