I'm hoping it turns out like you have it, but any of those semifinal teams you listed have the potential of winning it all. Actually, the final 8 is a really good field. I certainly wouldn't count out Houma Christian considering what they did to St John. The team we play isn't a slouch either. Ascension Christian has lost to 7 teams this year and 4 of them are still in the playoffs. Anything can happen. Should be some exciting games.

CC Is stacked and defiently the favorites. CCA can pound the ball 1-9 hitters. I hear H.C. Is a scrappy team with good hitters. Not sure how good the rest of the teams are though. Curious to see if Ascension Episcopal can hang with CCA, and the same for HC with Cedar Creek.

Central Catholic, Ascension Catholic, Covenant Christian, & Houma Christian should advance to the Semis. Central Catholic vs. Ascension Catholic in the Semifinal should be a close ballgame, possibly going extra innings. I'll give a slight edge to Central Catholic in this one. The other Semifinal will feature crosstown rivals Covenant Christian vs. Houma Christian in a game that is sure to be worth several times the admission price in terms of all-out effort, excellent baseball playing out on the field, & pumped-up fans in the stands (many of whom know each other all too well-either through working together, attending school together when they were younger, or, in some cases, worshipping together). This is another game that quite likely may be destined for extra innings (the past two seasons have seen them do exactly that with Covenant Christian prevailing both times at their home field of Southland Field). I'm going with Houma Christian in this one. In the Final, you would have Central Catholic (defending State Champ) vs. Houma Christian (a team that should be one of the favorites to win it all again next year). In what I expect to be a true classic, I am going with Houma Christian (a team that has to be looking to its future & liking very much what it sees). Houma Christian has only one Senior on its roster & most of the other starters & several key reserves are Juniors. They have just gotten Gavin Dugas back from an injury that he suffered during the second week of the season. Prior to the injury, he was the starting shortstop & he had already hit 3 HR's & was hitting at a .556 Batting Average (he hit 10 HR's & had an even .500 Batting Average last season as a Sopre before committing to play his college baseball at LSU last September). Some of the other key starters for Houma Christian are: Brock Theriot-a pitcher that I believe will be highly recruited next season & is almost unhittable at times, McCade Leblanc-a first baseman/pitcher that will also be highly recruited next season & is as fine a first baseman as I have seen all season (1 HR & hitting around .450 Batting Average) & is an excellent pitcher as well, Dylan Trahan-a catcher that I also believe will be highly recruited next season & whom I believe is sometimes underrated by opponents until it is too late for them (2 HR's & hitting around .450 Batting Average) & he doesn't let many balls get past him or allow many stolen bases off of him or his pitchers. Other starters & key reserves to keep your eye on are: Isaac Martinez(the lone Senior on the roster), Dalton Durkes, Brandt Rogers, Alex Hebert, Mason Zeringue, Brandon Gueniot, Zach Trujillo, & Will Bergeron have all contributed greatly to the success of the Warriors this season & I believe the best is yet to come for all of these players & the rest of the Warrior players as well. I am sure that almost all of the Central Catholic fans feel the same as you do about their chances in a potential Division IV Finals matchup with Houma Christian, or anyone else, for that matter. In the meantime, they need to hope that their team brings its "A" game against Ascension Catholic or there will be no chance to defend the title they won LAST season. As for Houma Christian, they just need to keep bringing it (their "A" game) against whomever they happen to meet in the Semifinals (either Covenant Christian or Ascension Episcopal). Just ask the St. John's & Cedar Creek fans that were in attendance at Houma Christian's last two playoff games what their impression of Houma Christian's team was after the games compared to what it may have been prior to those games having been played. As for next season, regardless of how the rest of THIS season plays out, I stand by my earlier statement that Houma Christian will be one of the best teams & one of the preseason favorites to win the Division IV Championship NEXT year. GEAUX WARRIORS!!!!

Whopper, for a team (Houma Christian) that has won nothing you sure talk a big game. History dictates that Central Catholic won't have to "hope" but will bring their "A" game to the semi's and hopefully it will be good enough to send them to the finals,We at Central Catholic understand that this is a new year and "LAST" years state championship is a thing in the past. Our coach has taught his players and fans that the only game that matters is the next one we play not one that may happen in the future. So good luck to your team and if you do meet CCHS in the finals may the best team won.

Let me say this first of all, "4everlsu" , I'm sorry if I got your little Eaglet feathers all ruffled & all that, but, that's just the way I roll. Secondly, as for me talking a "BIG" game, there again, I am a "BIG" guy. Thirdly, I was simply giving my opinion as to how the Division IV bracket was going to play out, per "baseballdad81's" request, just as you did. The only difference is that I'm currently 3 for 3, including Houma Christian knocking the team (Cedar Creek) out in the Quarterfinals that you had projected to be Central Catholic's likely opponent in the Finals. Fourthly, you mention that "RESPECT" isn't free & that it is earned, I think that Houma Christian has earned the respect of their last two opponents (#7 Seed-St. John & #2 Seed-Cedar Creek) & their fans are to be commended for being so gracious in defeat. Fifthly, we all need to keep in mind that baseball, at any level, is just a game-a form of entertainment for the rest of us to enjoy while the participants hone whatever baseball skills that God has blessed them with. Lastly, it has been close to fifty years since I last played baseball, but my love for the "GAME" has never wavered & never will. To God be all of the glory & let the rest of us thank Him for watching over us before, during, & after the games. GEAUX WARRIORS!!!WARRIOR PRIDE!!!

Ascension Episcopal just knocked off CCA. I bet CC is loving the way the bottom of the bracket is looking. Haha. They get either a 10 seed or 11, if they win their matchup

4everlsu, you didn't upset me at all, in fact, just the opposite. I, too, was just having some "fun". Unlike baseball, that is an activity that I can still participate in. Thanks for the update on the Ascension Episcopal-Covenant Christian game, I had followed the game on Gamechanger, but thanks just the same. I was actually pulling for Covenant Christian & was looking forward to seeing the crosstown rivals face off in Sulphur. Good luck to your team as well & who knows-maybe we will face off in the Finals. Now that would be some real "FUN" & maybe, just maybe, one for the ages. Here's hoping that all of the teams & their fanbases will remember that is exactly what it is supposed to be, "F-U-N". I pray that everyone will stay safe before, during, & after the trip to Sulphur. GEAUX WARRIORS!!! WARRIOR PRIDE!!!

I really don't think CC is worried about the bottom of the bracket because first they have to beat a very good Acension Catholic team to get to the finals. The power rankings is not a perfect science so being 11 or 10 seed at this point really means nothing.Houma Christian and Acension Episcopal deserves to be where they are because they are playing their best baseball as is Central Catholic and Acension Catholic. It should be two good semi final matchups.
