If you mean they exist as people and are improved, then yes, they are for real. Lakeside and Rosepine have been in the same boat for a few yrs. lakeside is much improved, and will win by 2-3 scores. Lakeside QB has found his way and is comfortable enough now. Rosepine has two decent running backs, but it won't be anything Earth shattering. If you are asking if Rosepine is for real to imply that they are a team that will be dangerous in the qtr finals and beyond, then no, no they are not for real.

We will see how real Rosepine is this week against Elton. Blowout wins over Merryville and South Cameron didn't impress me one bit. Those two teams will combine for 3-4 wins this season. Elton is a very good team and has a very good chance to go 9-0. If Rosepine wins, or even keeps it close, then they are for real and could make some real noise in their district. But I think Elton will expose the real Rosepine this Friday. Rosepine is definitely improved, but they shouldn't be expected to make it out of the first round of the playoffs. 4-6 wins is where I see them at. Seth Ducote looks pretty good at QB, ran for over 160 last Friday over South Cameron

I think Rosepine has gone something like 1-31 in the past 3 years and they already have 2 wins this season. Albeit the competition was a little low. Coach Cryer has them headed in the right direction again though-they are young and pretty big. They might not be there this year but they will be improved and I think we will start to see the very competitive rosepine teams from years back again soon.
I think they will keep it close with both Elton and Lakeside the next two weeks but eventually fall by a couple scores.

I have a family member that plays there that I don't get to see often. I believe they play at lakeside next Friday. Both teams seem to be on the up and up from some pretty dark years. They sound almost identical to lakeside. Except lakeside is probably more athletic but they are really big and athletic up front. QB seems to be progressing nicely. Lakeside has RB to keep an eye out for his name is Brian Jackson 6'0 240# when he gets to next level he isn't getting caught or tackles from what little bit I've seen. There OT are 6'3 296 and other is 6'4 275. Pretty good size for a 2A club. There defense is super fast. Heard rosepine was pretty big to, thanks for confirming that for me.

34-22 loss for Rosepine, and although a loss is a loss, they are a much, much better and competitive team than they have been for the last several years.

Cryer is just a really good coach and with so many returning starters i'm only mildly surprised at how quickly and how much they've improved. He says this is his last stop and if that is true he'll have them putting up winning records again pretty soon. They could make some noise in 4-2A this year.

They have a chance to go 6-4 if they take care of Oakdale and Pickering. I don't see them beating Vinton, DQ, or East Beau.

I will give Cryer credit for turning around the program and they have improved but they are a tad bit overrated die to the strength of their schedule plus they gave up 28 points to North Central last week who in my opinion is still a very week 1A squad plus I really just dont agree with the power rating stystem this year but we can discuss that on another thread lol. I feel like Rosepine’s line is what will beat Vinton despite Tony St. Julien’s speed and athleticism, Rosepine has a couple playmakers but I see the Eagles winning this one by a few points maybe more.. They shouldn’t beat East Beauregard by a touchdown but that game end by 8:30 because both teams love to chew up the clock lol, the Oakdale game could be a toss up but at this point id say Rosepine cause something isnt right with that Oakdale squad after being shut out by Ville Platte 24-0, DeQuincy should win that one all though itll be a little physical when the Tigers and Eagles clash but DeQuincy should win by atleast 2 touchdowns, Pickering will be an easy win and I know thatll be interesting for Cryer to go into Pickering coaching on the other sideline this time so look for that contest to be a little fiesty at times but Rosepine will win that one big and reclaim the Big Dog Jug.

Tony St. Julien isn't performing nearly as well as I thought he would. I mean Brontre Griffin from Highland Baptist out-rushed him when their teams played. Could be a problem with the line Im not sure. But he won't play running back in college more likely a receiver or safety at his size. Rosepine is for real, some late points against North Central made the score closer than the actual game. Plus even though they scored 28 Rosepine still beat them by just about that much. This district will come down to East Beau, DeQuincy, and Rosepine. Oakdale isn't very good, Vinton has TSJ and not much else, and Pickering won't win a game

Rosepine would be 1-3 had they played East Beau or Vintons schedule

Griffin is all that Highland has, he is a good player. Vinton does try to get other people involved which they better if they want to have any success moving forward in district play because teams will gear up to stop St. Julien, who did have 4 TD's in the easy win over Highland, and like 160 yards on 7 carries in a loss to Lake Arthur... Maybe they should give him the ball 25-30 times a game.

Rosepine big boyed us last night. We are tiny and they wore us out. On offense we moved the ball up and down the field, turnovers killed us. That on top of having 8 starters out didn't help...we have basically been playing with a good JV squad this last two weeks.

Given where they were the past 3 years, a record of 1-29 , Charlie Cryer should get 2A Coach of the Year. Say what u want about their schedule but the past 3 teams they had wouldn't have won these games. Their 8-1 and District Champions. That's an amazing turnaround.

No sir, done for the year. We were down 4 going into playing you guys week 5...we didn't think it could get any worse. Lost two more against yall and 1 each the next two weeks following. Total of 6 Freshman played a significant number of snaps these last two weeks on an already sopre heavy varsity squad. Not making any excuses by any means, Rosepine whipped us, injuries are part of the game...but we would have been a completely different team during district season minus the ole injury bug.
