I was told by a friend of mine from Creole that South Cameron almost had to forfiet their game against Elton last Friday due to only have 15 players dressed out, yesterday I saw on KPLC soprts that South Cameron has officially decided to remove theirselves from playoff contention (they were ranked 29th) but I guess you have nothing else lose when you’re the only team in 1A that is winless.. Fireman can you elaborate on the Friday night about the situation of them almost forfieting?

Unless some rely weird rezoning happens either next year or the year could be the end of Tarpon football. If Louisiana had six man ball they could maybe survive. I hate to see this Welsh and South Cameron once had some great games. With Grand Lake growing like it is and Johnson Bayou also growing old these coastal schools are fading away. The death of the oil industry in Cameron is also the reason. That town is dead.

They were a worthy adversary of ND back in the day also. I hate to see this.

Arguably the best small school program in Southwest Louisiana from the mid-80's up to Hurricane Rita in 2005. Losing the program would be another in a long line of blows to that community, but at this point seems inevitable.

Everyone thoughts when Grand Lake’s team started in 2013 that they would thrash South Cameron but I believe Grand Lake has only beat them once in their first 4 years but it could be twice as of now and thats if the Tarpons have a team by next week, Idk if injuries are a part of it also but tgey started the season with 21 dressed out.

Really hate to hear this. Hope it works out for them.
We were very close to shutting down our program as well and were able to recover. Wasn't easy. I wish them the best. Definitely isn't an easy situation to be in.

Hathaway has more students than Elton at this time. Hackberry was once the third largest school in Cameron Parish it is now the second and South Cameron is a distant third. As Lake Charles grows south Grand Lake will grow. I think they will be a 2A school very soon.

That’s a shame...I played in a playoff game against their 2002 team. They were some studs.
