How does the board see this one going?
I have no idea.
Catholic lost to a Parkview Baptist team that got smoked by Curtis. They shut out Div II Semifinalist St Thomas More.
The Eagles let Rummel hang around all last week but doesn't allow many points in any of their games.
Catholic came back from 21 down at half to beat beat Evangel at home two years ago which they parlayed into a state championship.
This year the Eagles seem to get stronger in the second half and pull away from teams.
The Eagles have had some significant injuries this year, how is Catholic in terms of injuries?
Will I see a very strong Catholic team that is very competitive or will Evangel win big?
Would like to hear anyones thoughts.

Depends on what you mean by competitive. Their defense is good enough to keep them in most games, but their offense hasn't been great against teams with winning records.
I doubt they stay within 10 points of Evangel, but a 28-14 game could still be considered competitive.

I'm going with 31-10. The e shakes off the first round playoffs jitters and goes back to playing Evangel football and dominates

I like that prediction SouthPlaq. So do you think they are better offensively than Rummel?

Catholic is young and and enigma. Sometimes you’ll get the team that dominated STM. Next week you’ll get the one that showed up vs St Amant.
Last week vs St. Aug is tough to gauge. I haven’t watched but i know St Aug has struggled on offense the entire year.
Catholic is pretty healthy, they are a very blue collar and take their coaches personality. They will always keep a fresh RB on the field, you may see about 5 of Them but Parker Smith is the most trusted by far, a grinder, not flashy but moves those chains.
The OLine is young and has gotten better since the beginning of the year, same goes for dline.
Cameron Dartez plays QB, good arm, pretty good feet too.
Mensah and Mestayor are probably the best 2 athletes on the team and they’ll go both ways. Primary positions are CB and Safety, respectively. Langley and Roy are extremely reliable WRs. Roy has made two of the best catches I’ve seen this year.
Offensively, a lot of shotgun, inside zones. OC was an analyst at tcu last year. They are exceptional on special teams

I like that prediction SouthPlaq. So do you think they are better offensively than Rummel? Absolutely not! Watch for their trick plays, especially the halfback pass

Evangel hasn't forgotten what happened against Catholic a couple years ago. They are the better team and will embarrass them this time. ECA 42 Catholic 7

Catholic is a very hot and cold team. From what I've seen they can't hang with ECA.
I'm going Evangel 34-0

Evangel only got 14 on Rummel last week. I see a competitive, low scoring game.

David beat Goliath and David was Catholic. I’m going with the underdogs. Amen 🙏 PS. I understand Goliath had a big head and thought he couldn’t lose.

Now I have to go and break the bad news to Rabbi Rosenberg Weinstein. But anyway, Evangel is a Christian school so how is God going to choose between Catholics and Christians?? 🤔🤔🤔

Anybody who watched the punchless ECA offense against Rummel should understand that the Catholic game could go either way. If not, that "big head" contains a very small brain.
PS. Last I heard, Catholics are Christians

I would like to say that Evangel rolls in this one. but, I don't think I can, given how ECA's offense is mediocre (at best).
I think ECA wins this game, but I don't see it as a particularly high scoring affair.

Starting RB #1 Sloan should be back this week. Running game will be much better with him back. It's hard for AD #24 to be everything on both offense and defense.
Look for better effort and better results this week.
With no bye also look for the offense to be in more rhythm.

What people fell to realize when you change up offensive plays 2 days before a game you might score a lot plus our defense doesn't make up Evangel as a whole offense is productive we balance each other 49-3

Rummel had guys running wide open several times and failed to connect. Also, outside of Shreveport, teams are much less intimidated by Evangel. If Catholic has any type of passing game they should win. If not, Evangel will win another title because they are a matchup nightmare for Curtis.

Catholic has just been very hit or miss all year. Flat out dominated STM and beat a strong Zachary. Laid a dud vs St Amant and EA
