Kaplan, gut feeling and just hoping. Something tells me it’s their turn. And Tank is the only public school coach that I know who speaks out against , he hates it and thinks it’s for sissies. Go Tank!

Go Tank! Tank has told me personally that if you win a State Championship during the current system it's only half a Championship.

There is no overall state championship.

I believe that Richwood wins this game by the slimmest of margins. My reasoning being that I saw them versus Sterlington & have not seen a defensive group this year. This is 5A stuff in their front 7. I believe if Kaplan does beat them, it will be because they exploit the secondary of Richwood. That is what I saw Friday night. Very suspect in the back end of that defense. In my humble opinion...

Tank is a good friend of mine and even if his team looses he kids BEAT you! Ask the Acadiana and Notre Dame kids how they felt Saturday morning after they played and beat them. And NO I'm not a Kaplan fan I'm a Tank Lotief fan. Get ready to strap on your chinstrap should be one hell of a ballgame.

I remember the last time Tank Lotief played a Richwood team. Tank was at North Vermilion & he won that game. I believe it was in the second round maybe? Tank's reputation is well known & I will give Kaplan their accolades, but I know what I saw Friday night & if they are more physical than that defensive group, I will gladly sing Tank's praises also!!! Once again, I believe they need to exploit the secondary of Richwood! In my humble opinion...

This Kaplan team is Waaaayyyyyyy better. Not even close. I hope for a great game, I'm sure it will be.

Kaplan traveled to Richwood for a 2nd round matchup and won, advancing to the Quarterfinals and traveling to Union Parish the next week. It is possible that one of Tank's North Vermilion teams played Richwood as well, but it was probably Kaplan.

You have two teams that were predicted 3rd and 4th in their respective districts by the local newspapers. So we got Richwood vs Kaplan. Love it...

I guess I kind of understand why Kaplan was predicted so low. Lose your best player and a group of seniors that played a large portion of the snaps on both sides of the ball. In actuality there were quite a few underclassmen who could have easily been playing in some of those spots. Now they are getting those opportunities and it is showing up in a big way.

Pulling for Richwood. For many years they've had the talent but lacked to coaching. Now it seems like both is on track. Plus an underdog story is always a good one.

I’m going with Kaplan because I know how well they can control the ball.

I think Richwood will give Kaplan all they want. But I think that it will come down to who makes less mistakes. Therefore, I have Kaplan winning 21-20

After talking with some friends, I am wondering if Richwood might have played their State Championship game last week versus Sterlington? Did Richwood expend so much emotion that it will be difficult to get back to that level emotionally? Will that Richwood team I saw Friday night play the way they did defensively against a VERY GOOD Kaplan team? I might be wavering on my early pick in this one. In my humble opinion...

It's hard to get 16 and 17 year olds to focus sometimes. I believe both teams will be prepared and it will be one of the better semifinal matchups. Buckle em up it's gonna be a battle.

I'm going with Kaplan in this one. I see Richwood being able to put up some points with their passing game though. Kaplan 38 Richwood 27

I know its a little late asking this very early on Friday morning but here goes: The only common opponent Kaplan and Richwood had this year was North Vermilion. Kaplan played NV in week 9 and won the game 31-7. Richwood played NV in the 1st round and won 20-17. Now I know in the playoffs lower seed teams can play lights out while the higher seed is looking forward to the next week and can stumble a bit. Is there any North Vermilion LSL'ers out there that attended both of these games and can maybe give us some insight on who you think will take this game?

A little history - In the 2008 playoffs #14 Kaplan lost to # 19 Richwood in the first round 35 to 36. In the 2013 playoffs #11 Kaplan beat #6 Richwood 14 to 7 in the second round. This is the only two times that I found that we played. I didn't look before 2004.

I believe NV beat Richwood in the 2004 playoffs in Maurice. Hard to figure this one out, but I am swapping my pick to Kaplan & Coach Lotief. I don't believe the Rams can get up 2 weeks in a row. Kaplan 21-7 winner. In my humble opinion...

Edit: I found it in 2005. #7 North Vermilion 40, #26 Richwood 30. I am getting this info off the old kenramsey site.

I’d love to see Kaplan take this one. I’m pulling for Tank, the players, the program, the school, the fans and the community. I don’t know enough about Richwood to make any kind of prediction. From what I’m reading here, if my life depended on it I’d pick Kaplan to win. Go Pirates!
