Also, a rule concerning mutual agreement for officials during playoff season with be mentioned. We are hoping that this will be approved. Now that many of the classes are 2 out of 3 games during the 2nd and 3rd round, the cost of the home team is exceeding 1,000 for umpires. For example, LHS and Acadiana met in the quarters a few years ago. Instead of mutually agreeing to local umpires, the lhsaa assigned the series umpires from West Monroe. Travel, hotels, perdiem and cost goes to the host team. Also, the gate is split between the 2 teams. Meaning the visiting team makes more. Hoping all other coaches out there will talk to
their administration. Let them know what you think, whether you agree or disagree with the vote. Thanks.

Any word on if 1A/Div. 4 will go to a 3 game format like everyone else? Heard that was being voted on also.

It passed, it is already in the LHSAA Handbook, no helmets required.

If you are going to make a few class best 2 out of 3 you should make all classes best 2 out 3.

those classes don't have the pitching depth the higher classes do...

those classes don't have the pitching depth the higher classes do... Some of the better 1A schools have some depth. I'm sure top 10ish schools have at least 2-3 good pitchers. In my opinion. |
