I’m definitely not trying to start any mess, but Kinder got beat today by a team that used the Kinder road map to success. There are several starters on Loreauville’s team who do not live in Loreauville’s zone. At least three of the RBIs and one of the runs scored can be attributed to one of those kids alone. These are kids who should be at NISH or Westgate but got “waivers” from the Iberia Parish School Board to attend school at Loreauville. If this happens at public schools, can someone please tell me again why we have a split?

Or do you not need a reason and your request just gets approved?

I’ve heard all sorts of excuses.....” my child has anxiety about attending a large school”......“my cousin’s husband’s sister teaches there”.... I don’t think they deny too many of those requests.

Every other player has come through our youth program. That is our recipe for success.

Or do you not need a reason and your request just gets approved? Many of the waivers that are granted are due to a parent teaching at the school. We get many kids from other schools due to their bad behavior also. Truth be told, there are many athletes that want to transfer to Loreauville but their waivers are denied 99% of the time because they’re athletes.

A bunch of sopres just rolled the #1 seed, y’all worried about transfers? Loreauville has been a baseball community since I moved here several years ago. From coach pitch up to high school age, there are a ton of competitive teams in rec, travel, and various school ball teams. You can’t log into FB on a Sunday night without seeing a bunch of Loreauville boys sporting rings. Win or lose today, the village will celebrate those boys’ great season.

Every other player has come through our youth program. That is our recipe for success. I didn’t say anything about transfers. I’m talking about kids who don’t live in Loreauville’s district. With that said, I’m not finding fault with Loreauville, the program or the system that allows it. My issue is the split. Supposedly the split is because private schools can get kids from anywhere but public schools have to abide by attendance zones. That’s simply not true. For what it’s worth, I have respect for the Loreauville program and hope they take home the title today.

They do not have to follow LHSAA, they do what they want because they pay the bills.

Hope to meet up with you guys again next year, good luck in the upcoming football season!

Hope to meet up with you guys again next year, good luck in the upcoming football season! Thank you. It’s extra special for most of us that played in the program. I actually coached 16 of the players in our youth and school programs. Those guys are all great kids and are already ready to start working towards next season.

Exactly the same as any other parish School Board handles all transfers then it is the responsibility of school to see if kid is eligible to play.
