Or maybe it will be OC that shows dominance. Best of luck to both teams. Well, to all of the naysayers out there, Houma Christian's headed back to Sulphur to take care of some unfinished business & to get all of the hardware that they left behind there last year. This time around, the Warriors refuse to be denied, having waited LONG ENOUGH to make amends for their early departure from McMurry Park last year. To all of you who have not had the opportunity to see the Houma Christian Warriors play, please don't let THIS OPPORTUNITY pass you by. If you do, you'll almost certainly regret having done so because these guys will almost all be going their separate ways after playing TOGETHER for almost a decade. Come experience the fulfillment of these young men's dream of winning a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. You'll be glad that you did & you may even gain a lifetime memory of it in the process. Well, my son plays for AC but sounds like we should just stay home since you already put the crown on HC. Congrats to yall brother!!!
I know plenty folks from St. john as well. I'll tell them just to stay home too. Enjoy the hardware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think both D4 games will be exciting. The D4 bracket went like it was set up... #1 seed thru #4 seed all going to Sulphur. I see both D4 games being really good ones.
The blackjack table should be interesting tonight as well!!!!!!!

I hear that. I will be there for both games. St John is a hell of a team but from what I hear if HC Ace is throwing his best, he’s tough to beat. I seen he completely shut down Opelousas Catholic. Same with Ouachita Christian. I seen they have a stud that just committed to LA Tech. Will be some pitching duals all around and who has the best #2 in the championship.

Looks like the two best teams will be in the finals in Div. 4. Congrats to Houma Christian for a great year.

Looks like the two best teams will be in the finals in Div. 4. Congrats to Houma Christian for a great year. That St. John vs HC game was a hell of a ball game all around. Looks like St. John got to their ace pretty good. A few base running mistakes, and a error and it could have been a different ball game. St. John with 2 HR’s and the HC catcher bouncing 2 off the wall. Great ball game. Good luck in the finals

He announced his championship before the semifinal game was even played. Your team was not that good. Terrible pitching and mediocre hitting.
And we shift gears to Ouachita Christian.... probably the worse example of a Christian school I have ever witnessed. However, the AC Bulldogs beat them all game to advance to the finals. Those coaches for Ouachita should all be fired for what they allow to transpire in a game. No class and total busch league. I would be embarrassed to be a part of that program. Absolutely terrible. Those kids are inspired by their coaches and they were debating on what color jersey's they would wear for the championship. Well guess what, there is no debate on that anymore. You can listen to the Bulldog.network or you can pay 10 bucks to get in the park. OCA is a complete embarrassment to the LHSAA.
Count your chickens before they hatch and this is what happens!!!!!!!!
St John and Ascension Catholic are clearly the best two teams in D4. Hands Down!!!

Terrible pitching and mediocre hitting?? What game were you watching? That terrible pitcher had 8 strikeouts compared to St. John’s golden boy 0, that got yanked in the 4th inning. Mediocre hitting, HC had 11hits to St. John’s 10.

If HC isn’t that good, shouldn’t St John blow them out the water? The Pitcher was throwing meatballs, he gave up 10 hits to 5guys and really only 3 of those guys made solid contact. So what does that say for the rest of that lineup? They are just mediocre hitters also? Help me out here

Looking forward to what will be a great Friday night between St.John and Ascension Catholic. It’s a huge rivalry for folks in Iberville and Ascension parish. Two programs who have been in this game before but it’s been awhile since they both have made it this far. This will be St. John’s first trip back to the title game since 2003 when they lost 7-6 against country day. Not sure about when AC last made. But anyway looking forward to a great game nothing like playing your rival for the state title.

How about you come introduce yourself. I would love to meet the person face to face that called me a .

I figured that’s where you were going with it because he did talk a big game. I just had to throw my 2 cents in because the game I watched that HC team was not a bad team. They have 5 college commits on it. St. John just got the big hits when they needed. HC’s SS & Catcher pretty much carried them in that game but it wasn’t enough. St. John can smash the ball. I’ll give them that.

Please elaborate further? What happened and why are they busch league? An embarrassment is a strong statement, what are your grounds on making that? I wasn't at the game so I am very curious to know what happened for someone to feel that strongly. Are you a coach, player, admin, or parent of AC?

I am eating crow-for the second year in a row following a heartbreaking (for the kids & their fans) semifinal loss. I, unlike you, would never, ever, go on a forum, such as this one, & make such asinine & disparaging remarks about a bunch of young men, who have absolutely no reason to hang their heads about after falling just short of their ultimate goal for the second year in a row. Now let me set you straight on something, fan55, I wasn't anointing anything to anyone with all of my pregame hype & banter. I was merely stating that Houma Christian was going back to Sulphur to make amends for their premature departure last year, something that your son & his Ascension Catholic teammates are familiar with, having been eliminated by Central Catholic in the 5:30 P.M. Division IV semifinal game on opening day last year. Congratulations to Ascension Catholic on getting to the Championship Game which should be a dandy between two teams who are very familiar with each other. I'm going to have to wrap it up, the crow's starting to get to me, or maybe it's all of the Tabasco sauce that I doused it with. Before going I have to ask the $64,000.00 question-were you EVEN at the Houma Christian vs. St. John game? If you were AT that game & SAW the game the way that YOU described it in YOUR post, then I REALLY do think you should give serious consideration to seeing an optometrist. You see (or maybe you don't-who knows?), I WAS at the game & had three college assistant coaches seated to the left & right of me & a TON of St. John fans seated behind me & let me tell you that NONE of them seemed to have been watching the game that you described. We ALL saw two very good teams playing their hearts out & leaving it all out on the field-congratulations to the players, coaches, & fan base of both team for making it a memorable day at the ballpark for all involved. If my pregame hype & buildup helped to heighten the level of interest in the Division IV Semifinals & maybe even put a few more people in the stands for the two games then I view that as being a good thing. On the other hand, if any of my comments on this forum have offended anyone, in anyway, please accept my sincerest apology. Now I've REALLY got to go take some antacids, this crow is not very palatable. Have fun in Sulphur, one & all, it has & will likely continue to be an outstanding & entertaining tournament all of the way through until late Saturday night.

Love you whopper!!!! It's all in the game buddy. I didn't like how you crowned HC before the game was even played. And yes, I respect both teams and I was at the game. I am good with a win or a loss but I don't crown anyone before the game is played. I probably went a bit overboard with my smack talking but it's no harm meant. The best 4 teams were in Sulphur in D4 and that is all that counts.

Both will be seniors. The rest of the team is sopres & Freshman, so they will be young. This was a talented bunch of seniors that, that school probably won’t see again for a long time.

It's tough for any school to replace 7 players, but for 1A it's nearly impossible. Central Catholic graduated 7 last year. We had a respectable season, but it definitely took its toll. Losing talent and leadership is hard to overcome.

I know ya'll are graduating a bunch of Srs, but I'm curious to know how many starting underclassmen will be back. Thanks, GRIZZ for the kind words. I am proud of the accomplishments of this Warriors team both on & off of the playing field these past four or five seasons. For most of their eight seniors it is the culmination of roughly a decade of hard work. To my knowledge, the only goal that was not achieved was winning the State Championship. I mean, it has to sting a lot, same field, same time, & same end result-two straight seasons. The winner in last year's game (Ascension Episcopal) went on to defeat Central Catholic for the State Championship. I feel that St. John will likely do the same this year by defeating Ascension Catholic by the score of about 8-3 in the State Championship game. Part of my reasoning is based on stats, part of it is based on on-field presence, & a big part is based on the weather forecast for tomorrow night's game-a fairly steady 10 M.P.H. or so wind from the southsoutheast. The way that Field #37 is situated at McMurry Park, Ascension Catholic may want to have their left fielder sit atop the left field wall in hopes of snagging one or two balls headed out of the park. I'm just kidding around, so everyone keep your shirts on (or skirts for that matter). Seriously though, anything that's hit halfway solid & with any height to left field will be deposited beyond the left field wall. It should be very entertaining to say the least. Now GRIZZ, with ole Whopper having gotten that off of his chest, back to answering the question about starting underclassmen for Houma Christian. The two that started in yesterday's semifinal game are Brandt Roger at third base & Brandon Gueniot at second base & both should be returning for their senior season next year. Other key returning players & their class status for 2019 should be junior Hayden Fontana, junior Eyan Webre, & senior Caleb Trahan. The Warriors coaching staff will certainly have their work cut out for them. It will be fun to watch these young players step up & fill some of the huge holes being left by the departure of this year's senior class. It WILL take time, but, I think that the Warriors will be back.

Classy post Whopper. You're obviously a proud and loyal fan of your team. No need to apologize for that. Congrats on an excellent season. And as usual, you are predicting prematurely again. You are probably slightly retarded or you have a mild case of dementia! Cause real baseball guys don't do what you do. Once again, you can listen on bulldog.network Love you brother!!!!!!

Please elaborate further? What happened and why are they busch league? An embarrassment is a strong statement, what are your grounds on making that? I wasn't at the game so I am very curious to know what happened for someone to feel that strongly. Are you a coach, player, admin, or parent of AC? I am a parent. I won't put on the forum what they do. Coach John Parker is the most humble, Christian, and completely honorable person I know and anyone that knows him would say the same. He works to instill those same standards in his players. Are they perfect? none are. He has my utmost respect and for anyone to say anything otherwise either does not know him or is and an absolute fool. You sir obviously do not know him.
