Jordy Culotta reports sources saying Walker is prepared to announce.....wait for it....Chad Mahaffey of UHigh as their next Head Coach.
Anyone else hearing anything?

U High admin that was big into athletics are leaving/left. He's probably not interested in staying with more strict bosses and less recruits.

I said this a while back, a few things you have to look at here, 1). He wanted to get into the Public school system, so him heading to Walker in one sense is a surprise but you have to remember when Lutcher High School became open 3-4 years ago when Tim Detiller stepped down, he was in the running for that job under the radar but Lutcher went with Dwain Jenkins who was on staff there before and he was a alum which Chad just couldnt beat him out. 2.) U-High will not be the same the next few years, the money people have had their kids graduating the past few years, so the enrollment is steadily dropping if you look at the numbers from 2015 to now, it will start to really decline after the 2019 graduating class leaves. He is a great coach, and with the talent Walker does have throughout Livingston parish and in that school, give him 2-3 years, he will make them into something.

Andy Martin who is the Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator I would think would be offered the job, but depending on if he was planning on going with Chad will determine that.

Most desirable select school/private school job here is/was Catholic. Weiner wanted Gabe for that. Basically handpicked. Brewerton and mahaffey tried. Brewerton is at the gold mine of Baton Rouge area now

Walker is growing fast. Affordable area and some talent the next couple of years. He will need to build an offensive and defensive line. Very nice football facility and new gym for basketball. They have people that support the program there. Maybe not as big as money as University people, but could be close.
10th-12th grade has 1200 students and 9th grade has 472. Pretty big school. Could have 2000 students with those two schools within 10 years. Lots of construction that way.

If Waller can develop their line play they will be elite like Zachary. All the pudding has slid down to that area as it is fast becoming the dominant force in Louisiana. Zachary is likely to become the new powerhouse in Louisiana for a few years, but I believe Brewerton will move on in the next few years to bigger things as it seems that is his desire. No problem with that at all.

Livingston Parish intrigues me, not only because I stay right outside the parish but the way they are built. Still room for growth and doesn’t look like they’ll be building another High School although it needs to. This remains primarily due to athletics multiple residents have said. Another dynamic that intrigues me is that denham springs and live oak principals are married, leaving walker clearly as the outlier. It all intrigues me a ton

I read the article and it is not very decisive as to what the perpetrators invoved did wrong excepf hints. Even Smith offers a counter rebutal that is worth its grain in salt. Unless, there is more here than they are leading on i dont know about, but you do, McHaffey leaving doesnt seem to be connected to anything here. The After School program is connected to football? Or the comment "in line with the structure of athletic camps owned by coaches at (the lab school)" means something more?
