Thank you. Hoping to keep it going for a few more weeks. Dequincy has had a heck of a year as well. They must be playing better than you mentioned a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you. Hoping to keep it going for a few more weeks. Dequincy has had a heck of a year as well. They must be playing better than you mentioned a couple of weeks ago. We have been playing well. Made some defensive changes and it has faired well thus far. Good luck in the playoffs.

The game between Many and Winnfield yesterday was a good one. The final score was 1-0. Very few errors if any by either team and a total of 8 hits between the 2 teams. Winnfield showed why they deserve to win the district outright as they got a runner on, bunted him over to 2nd and then stole 3rd. Sacrifice fly scored him and that was the only run of the game. You said it, pitching nor lack of errors matter if you don’t score runs. Many is solid and have beat some good teams and played close to other good teams. If we win the first round then we have to contend with Bunkie who has proven that they can play with and beat even the best in 2A. It’s a new season though and all of the cards are on the table. Congratulations to Winnfield on earning the district championship and good luck in the playoffs!!

Well you know Many will advance past Lakeview in the first round. Bunkie is pretty solid defensively, and top of their lineup can hit. I don’t think they will have the pitching depth to handle Many in a three game series. To be honest it looks like Many ended up with an easier road to the quarters than Winnfield.

Don’t know about the easier road to the quarters for Many. You guys get Fisher or Delcombre second round and we get Bunkie unless LA pulls of the upset. Bunkie was able to pull off a win against Winnfield. The question is did Lawson pitch that game for Winnfield and did the Leftie from Bunkie pitch for them. I have heard he is pretty good but don’t know the quality of pitching beyond him for Bunkie. In quarters Winnfield will likely get Lourville or Mangham and Many will get to travel to WELSH! That’s a pretty tough road to Sulphur for Many! Lol

We played Bunkie twice. We run ruled them first time pitching our number 4/5 pitcher. We lost 4-2 second time with Lawson pitching. That being said, we played terrible that night with errors, and stranded probably ten base runners. They pitched their best against us. They are a solid team and y’all will have to hit better than you did against Winnfield, but they are young and I’m not sure they have the pitching depth to beat y’all two out of three.

Didn’t say the road to Sulphur would be easier but I think the first two rounds should be easier for Many.

It looks like all the teams that were supposed to win did win last night as far as 2A is concerned. I didn’t see any upsets though I was surprised at the Welsh/Oakdale score. Hopefully no upsets tonight and the second round gets set as expected. As you know, in baseball it’s anybody’s game.

I don't think there is much chance we will see any true upsets in 2A today.

It would be rare to have an upset this year in 2A during the first round. However, once the 3 game series start we may see some surprises. It's tough to gauge the teams because not everyone plays the real tough schedules like Kinder, Welsh, and Loreauville. That's mostly because of location, some teams don't have quality opponents to play in their area.

That is very true. It's harder for north Louisiana teams to play the type of schedules that south Louisiana teams have because the schools are so spread out. Our coach is from south Louisiana and has done a good job of scheduling a tough schedule, but it's required us to travel more and longer distances to play. I love that we start off the year playing in the Erath tournament. Its great competition and the kids have a blast. Unfortunately the travel cost a lot of $$$ when you are talking feeding/ housing 20 plus kids. The first half of our schedule was pretty impressive, but once we hit district the quality of play dropped pretty low with the exception of Many. Just hoping the competition we played earlier in the season has us prepared for this weekend.

Who are the favorites to make a run in 2A? Looks like Welsh is solid again this year. I have to believe Kinder and Loreauville are way better than their records indicate, just played really tough schedules. Dequincy and Doyle look to be on a roll as well.

Wasn't a competitive game either. Loreauville was on another level and Winnfield didn't look interested in fighting back.

Wasn't a competitive game either. Loreauville was on another level and Winnfield didn't look interested in fighting back.
The first game was very competitive. 1-1 going into sixth inning. Couple call go our way Loreauville would have been scoreless. We don’t have a kid forget to tag we have at least least one more run lead maybe more. Second game wasn’t competitive, our number two been dealing with a minor injury and couldn’t get the ball across the plate. Second game was worse that the first for officiating. Not blaming officials cause they made bad calls on both sides but we definitely had more calls go against us. At the end of the day Loreauville may have had 5 earned runs total with both games combined. I say that to say this- yes I believe Loreauville has the most athletic team in 2A, but they can be beat if their Opponent doesn’t beat themselves.
