Regional round has arrived. Will we see some true upsets this round? Here's a few I'm interested in.
2A (8) Loreauville hosts (9) Mangham starting tonight. Mangham knocked out our girls last week in the Quarterfinals. Don't know anything about them so we shall see if our bats stay hot.
(17) Delcambre goes up to (1) Winnfield. Delcambre can play lights out one day then get slaughtered the next. Will be interesting to see which team shows up.
5A (1) Barbe hosts (17) Central. Will Central make a run to Sulphur?
3A (4) Berwick hosts (13) North Vermilion. NV has early season wins over St Thomas More and Winnfield. Don't know what happened to them down the stretch.
D4 (8) Sacred Heart hosts (9) St Ed's. Teams split the season series with the home team winning both games. (6) Opelousas Catholic hosts (11) Westminster. OC has won 9 out of 10 with wins

what’s the story with Delcambre? How deep is there pitching? Looked at there schedule and your right, it’s like one day play great and the next just get clobbered.

They’ve been working on improving the program for the past 6 or 7 years. Not much pitching depth but they won’t go down without a fight. They would be much better if they could keep all their players and not lose them to the Red School, VC, or Erath. They’re in a weird location with the town in both Iberia and Vermilion parishes. The school is under the Iberia Parish School board even though the property is in Vermilion parish.

Many host Bunkie today. I know Bunkie is an 11 seed by bracket but they are a much higher seed by skill! Tonight’s game will most likely be a pitching dual! I’m excited but nervous, lol!

They haven't faced a team as tough as Loreauville this year.

I think the teams are evenly matched. If Many hits like they have most of the year, and pitch like they did get against Winnfield you will win the series.

Mangham 2 Loreauville 12
Tigers with 13 hits and 14 stolen bases. A little windy at the stadium this afternoon. Mangham couldn’t catch any fly balls or pop ups. Coach didn’t look very happy.

Delcambre- 0 Winnfield- 14
We pitched our ace, assuming they pitched their number 2. They went through three pitchers. Guessing we will get the ace first game tomorrow.

They will throw Delcambre (CF), Moneaux (1B), or Boudreaux tomorrow. Yes, Delcambre always has kids with the last name Delcambre. We had 7 hits and 9 runs off Delcambre in 3 innings but only 1 run was earned. He also held Ascension Episcopal to only 3 earned runs in 4 innings.

I think they will turn it around today but I been saying CCA is overrated. AC better bring their hot bats today. Central Catholic losing shocked the hell out of me.

Many baseball travels to Welsh for the quarter finals. Any thoughts on this series. I know Welsh has been rolling all season but Many put up 23 runs on a very good Bunkie team.

Haven’t seen them play this year but they knocked us out in the quarters last year. I can say they are very well coached and disciplined. They’ve played a tough schedule and are going to be much tougher than Bunkie.

Loreauville beats Mangham 17-5. Mangham played better today but couldn’t keep up. Each time they scored a run or 2, we would score 5 or 6. I have no clue where their coach comes up with the coaching decisions he makes. Every time we had a runner on third (even in 1st inning), he would bring the infield in. That gave us plenty of runs with easy ground balls and bloops over the infield. We also only had 12 stolen bases this game and 14 hits. Put lots of pressure on their defense and they had 8 errors, which were mostly bad throws around the infield on stolen bases with multiple runners moving.

I never doubted Kinder would come back on Saturday and take the series. I was really supruised Dequincy got knocked out yesterday. Don’t count Many out just yet. They have been pitching much better than they were to start off the year. They aren’t going to just lay down for Welsh. If they cam find a way to take the first game they have a shot to take Welsh out.
Any opinions on the Winnfield/ Loreauville matchup?
