Wow I didn’t think it would be that low. Seems like we should set the bar higher for awards.

The guy was Coach of the Year because he led Oberlin to their 1st ever Baseball State Championship. They beat the teams put in front of them in the playoffs. That's all that matters. Nothing wrong with that All State Team.

I respectfully disagree
They lost district games to teams who weren’t afforded the same opportunity they did
Don’t forget that entire bracket feel 18 or lower in the combined bracket.

All teams are given the same opportunity. The rules are set before the season begins. Every team has the opportunity to make the playoffs and advance to the championship.

That’s simply not true
Some schools are excluded for out of zone players but others like Loreauville are not.

How would you feel if Lataulas would have left after frosh year and went to the red school?
That might give you some idea how the “select” feel when we get kicked out of the playoffs and due to “non select” majority and then watch them break the same rules we are put out for and have to deal with our kids getting fewer opportunities to play

That’s simply not true Some schools are excluded for out of zone players but others like Loreauville are not. Nobody is excluded from the playoffs. Rules are set on what is need to be accomplished to make the playoffs. Teams that meet the criteria are seeded by rule and the playoffs go on. Teams that don't meet the set criteria are sent home to begin spring football. Why is that so hard to understand?

Call out adults, not kids. He is enrolled in school according to the rules set forth by the LHSAA. If you want something to change, do like everyone else in the country, get it voted on and changed. With our national baseball organization, if I see a rule that I feel needs to be changed, I submit a rule change to our board and it gets voted on. If it gets enough votes, the rule is changed. That's how it works in the real world. Consistently complaining on a message board doesn't change anything, it just makes you sound ridiculous.

University academy of cenla not excluded
Yeah try again they aren’t in any bracket
Had a higher powerrating than every single school in the 1a bracket
Oberlin won the “non select” bracket which considering what was it four or five teams with a winning record clearly not as good as div iv
Any of the teams in div iv would have won that bracket easy
So the oberlin coach wins an award for winning an inferior bracket that the other schools aren’t allowed to play in
Again “non select” kicked out “select” and Loreauville along with many other non select schools enroll an out of zone kid and play
I guess it’s fine when you benefit from selective enforcement of the rules
Enjoy your third place baseball trophy
Lose to catholic and ascension during the year and get a trophy when you are just as guilty of out of zone kids as them

From what I see, a kids attendance zone is their parish. The kid you are referring to came to LHS as a freshman and sat out a year, as per the LHSAA rules. Rules are set and school follow them. Go take a nap on Louie's couch and have him console you.

I guess you didn’t get the memo parish lined hasn’t been the rule Since 2016-2017 school year
And if that is the rule like you say sit a year and play then why kick out the select schools
Aren’t those kids allowed the same opportunity to sit out a year and get eligible?

I just pulled the exact wording from the current LHSAA handbook. Zone is set by parish school board or federal court. Same meaning but LHSAA basically staying out of zoning and putting that on school boards.

Great maybe we can even get equal enforcement of the rules
Since I can’t get how a student can be allowed to leave zone to another public school and that’s treated as fine
But when a student crosses zone to a private school they get thrown out of a bracket
