I don’t see how LSU isn’t atop the list given their schedule It's tough to see why LSU isnt 1. Wins vs Auburn and Florida and a win vs Texas which now doesn't look as good. In comparison to Ohio State they have a better resume. Should be 1 but we'll see how it plays out

I don’t see how LSU isn’t atop the list given their schedule I think the committee is looking at the remaining games on each schedule and obviously Ohio State has a much harder schedule left, all LSU has after Bama is Ole Miss, Arkansas, and A&M.. None of which are ranked.. Ohio State still has Maryland #5 Penn State and #14 Michigan.

The CFP committee has released the rankings! Here are the top 6! 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Alabama 4. Penn State 5. Clemson 6. Georgia Thoughts? So here’s my issue. What happens when one of the two SEC teams in the top 4 on here lose next week?

The whole thing is jacked up. You have Ohio St at one over LSU who who played the toughest schedule. Also Clemson at #5 is a joke they are the defending national champs an undefeated.

Ohio vs Penn State, and LSU vs Bama will define these better.
Maryland will get destroyed by Ohio, they suck...

Ohio State about to win by 60 I could see that actually happening, OSU has been averaging around 50+ points a game it seems..

Rankings don't matter until 5 more weeks. If LSU beats Alabama Saturday then all is right in the world. And then if Auburn can beat Alabama I will be even happier.
I hope LSU could play Penn State, for a little payback from that awful bowl game about 10 years ago where LSU lost on late field goal.

Rankings are a moot point right now. If LSU beats Bama, they will be #1 in the CFP without a doubt. This whole rankings thing cranking up now and leading towards the end of the season is literally just an attempt at drawing interest into another TV show. Which is a ploy that's clearly working extremely well. You see what they did with Clemson. "Let's act like they're not in the Top 4 when, in reality, we know that each of the Top 4 teams still have to play each other and Clemson will cake walk into the Top 4." Ratings, ratings, ratings!

these ratings are a cop out as 2 of the top 4 play each other. then Clemson would be back in they don't wont another 2 SEC school playoffs so that is why they put LSU at #2 instead of #1 and moved bama back to #4 noted bama hasn't played anyone competitive this year besides Texas A&M, but we can all agree that they would beat Penn State and Ohio State. so in my belief they want to get 4 conferences in there instead of 3. just my opinion on it though.

The CFP committee has released the rankings! Here are the top 6! 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Alabama 4. Penn State 5. Clemson 6. Georgia Thoughts? OSU actually has a higher SOS than LSU today. That is to a large degree because they have not played an FCS team. LSU played a bad FCS team 1-7 Northwestern. Plus OOC schedule looks like this LSU played OOC teams that had a combined record of 15-20. Overall teams had a combined record of 35-33 OOC opponents Georgia Southern 5-3 Sunbelt W 55–3 at No. 9 Texas 5-3 B1G W 45–38 Northwestern State 1-8 FCS W 65–14 Utah State 4-4 MW W 42–6 OSU has played OOC opponents with a combine record of 17-8. Overall teams had a combined record of 39-28 OOC opponents Florida Atlantic 6-3 CUSA W 45–21 Cincinnati 7-1 AAC W 42–0 Miami (OH) 4-4 MAC W 76–5 If LSU wins out, they are in. A win this week may have them jumping OSU.

I actually think the loser of the LSU/BAMA game is still in great shape. The winner of that game get an extra game with Georgia that Georgia can win. So there is a possibility that the loser of this Saturday could get in the playoff and not the winner.
Penn state and Ohio state still play each other, so that eliminates one of them. Plus the winner of that game Must win the big 10 championship game.
The interesting decision will be who gets the 4th spot a 1 loss SEC team or 1 loss Big 10 team.
