LCA softball beat Carencro 17-3 and then turned around and beat Lafayette High 13-0
Baseball opens with Westgate tonight if it ever stops raining.

LCA barely had a chance to swing the bat. Walked probably 20 times. The game before was full of walks as well. The game was played on turf, but no pitcher was able to hold their footing the whole game.

Even with turf, kids were falling (slipping) left and right. Kids over sliding bases by 10 feet and leaving a rooster tail of water when they did. None of the endless number of pitchers could find the strike zone and landing foot was sliding on the mound. |

I didn't know about the field but i knew walks had to be the main reason for 17 runs on just 2 hits. I've seen a team get no-hit and still manage 2 runs because of errors. Walks are worse because they're free passes and don't expend any energy on the part of the offensive players. Unless the batter fouled off 7 or so pitches before being walked lol. I'm very interested to see how LCA competes this season in both baseball and softball. I'll be watching them very closely ,albeit through Twitter and box scores. They're in a good district to get an accurate read on how they'll stack up against the teams they'll see in the playoffs. Notre Dame is always one of the top teams in baseball and softball and Welsh has really come on lately in baseball. Lake Arhtur is also improving in both sports and Port Barre has made solid investments in their programs. |

The baseball team has some talent, but to say they are young would be a huge understatement. There are a couple guys hurt and a couple more than will be out once basketball is over, but last night they started 2 seniors, 1 junior, 4 sopres, 1 freshman and two 8th graders. First reliever out of the bullpen was an 8th grader as well. |

It will be a good game!!!! Also Doyline Class B beat Northwood 4-A at Northwood 8 to 3. Dominating performance by entire team. Huge win and start for Coach Martins team.

Kinder beat DeRidder 7-2 yesterday and Notre Dame got a very impressive win over St. Thomas More on Tuesday. Definitely gonna have to move them up in the Rankings. We play them in a single non-district game in a couple of weeks. Should be good. Kinder plays in their own Tournament starting today against La Grange, St. Edmund, and Lutcher. Softball also opened with a win, 17-7 over Oberlin. They start the DeQuincy tournament against Iowa. Hope the weather doesn't wreak too much more havoc on the season.
