Personally, I think the private schools in Louisiana should join the MAIS and form a East & West division. Do playoffs until you have a East Champion and a West Champion then let the champions play each other for the MAIS Championship. Made for ESPN or Fox Sports to televise the championship games.

Yeah...........MADE for Espn. Ten's of dollars to be made. Enjoy! I also saw that the new state tile sponsor will be the CCC (commodity credit corperation) since the past fox game of the week and title sponsors are private school backers are moving over as well. Look at the bright side Manboobsnonjohnson you can get your government cheese as the will be handing it out at the gate.

You are delusional. ESPN and Fox Sports are not going to lose advertising dollars to broadcast a game that 800 people actually care about.

Sounds like a plan!!! And to prove a point, the only reason they broadcast the LHSAA games this was because the NFHS Network produced them. The NFHS will not recognize the MAIS or any other independant school association, so someone would have to front the cost to produce the broadcast. Costs even more money.

They will if there is enough D-1 talent on the field. ESPN carried Lebron James games in high school, I assure you people want to see talent. I think 2 associations is dumb but, honestly I'm tired of the conversations. Split, don't split what ever, just get over it already..

Sponsors lost - Yep, and have been lost before. Only thing is, this is a capatalistic nation. If there is money to be made, and there is, someone will step up. Dome lost- Ok.....and? 49 other states dont play in the Superdome. Seems to work there. Legislature will take over- Really? Well, I would think they would have more to deal with considering the Governors state of the State broadcast. But, for a moment, lets say the legislature does take over. Those guys are elected, remember? They can also be unelected. Truth of the matter is only a small % of the Legislators EVER cared about the LHSAA situation. AT LEAST as many saw it the other way (as does the Governor), and most dont care at all.
Bonines threats, followed by his minion's whining.................nothing more. Fast Eddie did us a favor. THANKS!

yall were gonna do that with or without Bonine... i'm gonna give him props for at least trying to save the LHSAA.
the teachers' unions might like the split, and might be owned by the teachers' unions, but he is a lame duck barely two months into his term... might be a matter of time, but he has a recall petition... anyways, don't brag about him because the legislature is in charge. he does what they want or else
with budget cuts coming, those little parishes with class B and C scattered around them will be consolidating into larger schools that actually make sense for today's world, then we'll revisit the split when the process is reformed and the votes from those little schools are gone

Thats at the end of the term, not the beginning. Recall Petition, no chance. Not a fan myself, but ultra right rhetoric is only that, rhetoric Legislature runs the Governor? You ever read a civic book? Consolidation, yeah, happens regularly. And your point is small public schools coming together will somehow change a landslide vote? That makes sense. You see, what everyone is missing here, is just like the select schools, primarily private, are threatning walking away, so could the public schools. Forming a new association works for both parties, and really isnt that hard. This ship has sailed. The LHSAA as we have known it over the past 50 years, will not ever be the same again. New associations, whatever, will rule the day. DONE

We all know how republican LA is. pretty much knows right now he won't be reelected in 2019. That's the definition of lame duck. Our republican legislature can damn near override anything he does. The LHSAA might not ever be the same, well whose fault is that?

But since he has to make the tough cuts and/or raise taxes, and because he dared to bring up LSU football being cancelled, his chances went from little to none, hence being a lame duck

Everyone jumped to the conclusion he meant LSU football. Thats neither here nor there. He is the sitting governor with all the rights now, and to run again. That, by definition, is not lame duck.

If the MAIS and Louisiana private schools combined to make one association, they would have more membership than what would be left of the LHSAA.

I don't think everyone understands the the potential ramifications of the formation of a new league. The reasons that FORCE the formation are antagonistic. The new league will seek to transplant the LHSAA as the nationally recognized association. The sponsorships will matter as well, but the LHSAA has voted to divide itself among its membership (for spiteful and antagonistic reasons as stated by the proponents of the split and the pro split posters here) and to eventually have to fight to even remain an organization. It has voted to open itself to attacks from the legislature AND now a potential alternative option for High School athletics.
I think this is what sacrificing the future for the now looks like.

"Spiteful and antagonistic" reasons. Democratic and in need of change, is actually the correct way to put this. If the LHSAA fails, there will still be football on friday nights under the umbrella of SOME organization. More threats, more jibberish.

Remember? nah, guess not.. I know that OCS has beaten plenty of teams that had far more talent, and gotten beat by teams that had less talent than they had. I know this, IF there is a separation the talent will find it's way into the new association, one way or another.. Like I said in my earlier post, this is ALL dumb and people need to just get over it.

If there is a new association formed, I can almost bet that recruiting from outside of that organization will be A-Okay. And it should be. Up till this point, I don't think there have been nearly as many cases of recruiting as you people like to insinuate. If there is an organization that has open season on players from LHSAA schools... many private schools will have to expand to make room for all the new students.

In the new world that you and your fellow split supporters want, I can almost guarantee that recruiting will take over. Not with all schools though. What most of you fail to realize is, it takes a lot of money to go to a private school, any free rides must be covered and that takes money. Some schools have that kind of support, however most do not. It's not hard to pick them out... Select or Non-select...
