I heard that several of the schools that have been segregated are going to charge double the entrance fee for games next season. But it'll only be when they play a school that voted for the split.
I don't know if that's possible or true.
But it did make me laugh a little bit.
I guess we'll find out next year.

I take all of the rumors and gossip on here with a grain of salt. Having said that I did hear a rumor from a pretty reliable source that what ever is decided by the select schools will be announced on July 1st. Don't know why that date is important but just wish something was finalized so maybe some of the speculations on here would end.

I don't know about the segregated schools leaving the LHSAA or not. I'm just a parent and it's not up to me. It wasn't anyone associated directly with a school that told me that. It was actually a Byrd parent asking me because that's what he'd heard. So it's not really fair to say that anyone is threatening anything. I don't think anyone said the LHSAA would collapse. Or that all the sponsors would go away. but if you think the private schools are going to leave and it's not going to make any kind of impact, you're not really capable of rational thought.

I have not heard of anything like this. I know the school at which my child attends is not planning on that. I do think that we would move to the new organization if it formed. At least that is the sense I get when I talk with the administration. If a new organization is formed, I think it has to go after the national recognition (I think NFA?) from Louisiana so that members will be able to compete with members from other states. That is only a possibility in my mind if some bigger public schools leave the lhsaa and join the new association. Without that, I think the new association exists as a smaller association in the state without much overall consequence (like the MAIS schools now). Just my thoughts

Perhaps "silly" to someone that is uneducated and doesn't know what the word "segregated" means. The schools that are being forced into "separate" playoffs and championships are being segregated. They did not segregate themselves, it was put on them. I realize that some people have a nasty little habit of taking certain words, phrases, ideas, or even objects and making them about only 1 particular thing. I do not participate in such nonsense as I prefer to keep my options open and not limit myself. English is already one of the more complicated languages in use, I'm not going to limit myself in its use because some people keep their minds in a box. So no, I wasn't joking and trying to make light of civil rights issues. If you feel as though my proper use of a word makes my kids' school look bad, then I guess Evangel will have to look bad. I'd rather Evangel look bad for teaching me (don't forget I went there) the definition of the word "segregate" than to have everyone accept inept and/or improper teaching.

You seem to be struggling with this as well (not surprised). Segregate: verb set apart from the rest or from each other; isolate or divide. I would think as much as you run your mouth around here you would venture to other parts of the internet at some point. There is this website called "Google". You can find a plethora of information by using the search function there. Including word definitions.

I've not placed myself anywhere. I'm not having a hard time with the split. If my life revolved around where my kid plays football, the very last place I would be living is in Louisiana. Okay, maybe not the very last place, but it would be way down the list. I only went to public schools for a couple of years. I had no problems when I went there. Certainly not with the kids. I didn't like Southwood, but that was just more because I was raised in the country and Southwood was full of city folks. Wasn't my cut of tea back then and it still isn't. So no, I was never bullied at any of the schools I attended.

Agreed, just like 5A is segregated from 4A, and 3A, and so on. we don't all pay the same dues... "9.1.1 Membership dues (applies to all schools) CLASS DUES 5A $1050 4A $900 3A $750 2A $600 1A $450 B $375 C $300" From the LHSAA Constitution, no difference by class for Select or non Select dues. We all pay the same dues by class, but the "Select" schools have been additionally segregated out for playoffs and are no longer equal members of the association. That is called "discrimination" and is "tyranny of the majority". Remedy resides in the courts or by voluntary separation from such a monopolistic tyrannical PRIVATE organization. Also, this brings up the following article: "2.4 Member schools are prohibited from hosting or participating in any interscholastic athletic event at any facility that practices discrimination." By this convention all schools who participated in the playoffs since the segregationist discrimination by the NON Selects is in violation of this major tenant. Please note this rule does not specify what is discrimination or what type of discrimination is allowed, it simply states discrimination. You could argue, that the existence of a separate and unequal playoff in each class has dissolve the LHSAA, as it prohibits it's own existence by constitutional convention and by-law.
